His wife also reported him missing around 10:30pm, just before the crash... And the supposedly weren't arguing.
Just a weird story... could be another woman?... Hard not to compare it to Steve McNair a little bit.

He would've probably signed with the lions this week if he were still alive... at least that's what a titans beat writer said this afternoon.

This is just a weird story all around.
He goes to bed at 10:30, that's the last time his wife see's him. She goes to check on him a few minutes later, can't find him and calls the police. He allegedly tries to run a couple off the road, gives them a mean look as they pull over to let him pass. Shortly after they see smoke and pull over and see the wreck which happens at 11:03.
33 minutes for all that to go down. He "may have had one beer" that night and had been acting completely normal a half hour before he's dead.
Crazy shite. You can only imagine what prompted that.
911 caller said "He's dangerous. There's something wrong with him. He's drunk or he's on drugs or something"

Seriously, he could have taken Ambien right before bed, maybe doubled up his dose or something??

She took that shite briefly about 15 years ago. It knocked her out alright, but in the 20 minutes or so between the time she took it and the time she fell asleep her behavior could get pretty strange. Luckily she can never find her car keys.
No sense speculating on what was in Rob's system, I'm sure the tox screen will be made public eventually. Just a tragedy all the way around.
Slightly O/T advice to you youngsters: avoid psychotropic drugs if at all possible. While they certainly have their usefulness, they can occasionally cause more harm than good.

Ambien should be banned from earth. I tried it for a while. It had a strange physiological effect on me. I'm just glad I didn't do anything to hurt someone while I was on it.

Dude, over reaction much? I took it last year and it was a god send. Before hand I was falling asleep driving during the middle of the day. I would be having a conversation at dinner and just pass out. I could not lay down and fall asleep. When I started taking ambien I was finally able to have a normal sleep schedule.
While some people can have adverse side effects from sleeping pills the vast majority of people are helped by them.

I took Ambien a few years ago when I was having some chronic pain issues. It really helped me fall asleep, but I never found it restful sleep. just deeply unconscious then awake.

Same here.
The best thing I have found is Nature Made Sleep. I take it about an hour before I want to fall asleep and sleep through the night.

no but it shouldn't be prescribed as readily as it is. There are plenty of other means that should be tried first. Problem is we all (myself included) just want the quick fix. I'm guilty of taking sleeping pills instead of working on a sleep schedule and exercising in order to tire myself out, and then also drinking energy drinks to boot.

When I quit drinking caffeine, my sleeping problems stopped. I can sleep whenever I want now.
