.....In the long run, fans, coaches, players, administration, etc, cannot be happy with and accept 6-6 seasons, with an appearance in a no-name bowl.

With that attitude, we will be mediocre forever.

It's refreshing to see how many people are pissed off about the result of last Saturday's game. It shows that people are starting to expect more out of our team.

How many 6-6 seasons have we had under GP? I think the fan base went ballistic two years ago when we were 5-7 and understandably so. Before that though, you have to go back a decade to 2004 to find a 6-6 or worse season.

It's good to not accept losing as an option but it's also good to be objective about where you've been, where you are and where you want to be.

Miszou being successful in the long run is a major undertaking. A good portion of that has been undertaken by the SEC move, but everything else that could possibly be done is being done. Building the program as a program is huge, faciliites improvements are also huge. However, we're still a mid level program in a great conference that's making strides annually. Gary Pinkel is a huge part of that.

We like to think we're up there with the Floridas of the world and that we've turned a corner, but were a frick of a lot closer to Kentucky or a kansas than a Texas or a USC. We can make it, but I don't think you make the turn to greatness that so few schools have made by changing horses midstream. GP has some weaknesses, but he's the horse that got us here. We're not alone in that, if you think South Carolina has it made when Spurrier hangs it up, you're wrong. They're just as capable to make a backslide as anyone else. Hell, you can even look at Florida to see the backslide a bad coaching choice can create, and we don't have half the advantages Florida has.

Stick with Pinkel until he proves he can't handle it, it will take more than a shitty, terrible loss to Indiana to get me to sell him out now.

Not sure when Pinkels contract ends but Pinkel and Alden need to get a succession plan in place and identify some young assistant coaches that could be groomed and ready when HCGP calls it quits. They're out there and that needs to be conveyed during the hiring process, no guarantees but the opportunity may present itself for the head coaching job if they can prove themselves as recruiters and coaches.
