Glad to see adjustments are being made, although if we can't fix both lines, this will be a very long season.

eta: I guess what I'm trying to say, is yes we were looking ahead and made stupid mistakes, but the lines being outmatched by Indiana can't be attributed to this.

Edit - I realize this was a shitty post for not summarizing changes, I keep going back to the article to see what all changes were made so thought I'd summarize here to help anyone else who keeps forgetting how things have been shaken up:

RB

-Hansbrough moves back ahead of Murphy in the OR starter order. He's coming off of one of the most statistically strange performances of his career. Ten carries for 119 yards? Awesome! Six carries of one or fewer yards? Less awesome!
(And yes, Morgan Steward is still out as well.)

WR

-So here's where things begin to get funky. Darius White, who had some success on curl routes against Indiana (five catches, 51 yards), injured his hamstring and is out for Saturday. That means Wesley Leftwich, who has three fewer career catches than White had on Saturday, gets his first start. He's long been regarded as someone with high-caliber speed, but he doesn't bring nearly as much size to the table. Odds are pretty good that Bud Sasser and Jimmie Hunt will be asked to carry an even heavier load than they saw on Saturday, when they caught 17 passes for 228 yards.

OL

-And now things get really funky. Left guard Anthony Gatti is out for the season, which means Connor McGovern moves back to right guard, where he started for all of 2013. That part was a little predictable. Less predictable: Starting right guard Mitch Hall doesn't move to the left side; he moves to second-string RG. Brad McNulty, who filled in for Gatti most of the game on Saturday, will start. With Taylor Chappell moving up to first-string right tackle, that means Mizzou will have two new starters on Saturday instead of just one.

CB

Another new starter! Kenya Dennis is now above John Gibson. You could kind of see this coming, but the timing is interesting. South Carolina doesn't have a lot of size in its receiving corps, but it has all the speed in the world. To my eye, Gibson appears quite a bit faster (and less consistent) than Dennis. Gotta figure Gibson's fourth-down pass interference penalty didn't really help his case here.

Gatti's out for season.

Anyone think the shuffling will fix anything?

didn't realize White was out from injury, that doesn't make me feel better about this next game at all.

That will be a tough one and explains the last series against Indiana. We really need to have one of the youngsters step up but it just doesn't look like it's going to happen.

I can't remember. They redshirting Brown or has he played?

If the game wasn't embarrassing enough for them, maybe knowing that their starting jobs aren't safe will get their heads in the right place.

I haven't been that frustrated watching a game since we blew a 13-0 lead in the 4th against the bugeaters.

I was hoping for good things from a Leftwich that was finally healthy. I couldn't have been more wrong so far about him. Why not give all of his snaps to Brown and Moore or whoever and get them the experience?

I believe the line shift will have an impact.

It was dumb they took guys out of their natural positions in the first place.

They do it because they let seniority fail before they pass on the torch.

Leftwich legitimately sucks. He got too big. Was a fast guy out of high school, bulked up way too much, looks like a TJ Moe without those hands and intangibles.

J'Mon Moore and Brown should have gotten way more reps thus far. It's pretty insane that they haven't.

I haven't seen a lot of separation from our WRs. Moore and Brown seem to be a couple guys that could get open. I know SC isn't where you want to break in players, but if it's breaking in Moore or Leftwich, I vote Moore.

HCGP and staff still have this problem. The way they are rotating the WR's we will have NO WR's with experience next year. How does a throw first offense have NO WR's with experience coming back?!?!?!

I was impressed with the way Indiana was playing true freshman and RSFR. They probably had to but they at least put their non experience players in the game.

Is it just me or has Gibson seemed to regress this year? I don't recall him struggling as much last year and was relieved to see Dennis starting at the one CB position.

Who are our starting WR's next year? At this rate, they will have less experience that what we came into this year with. Leftwich??? Then who???

magnificent recruiting eh?

Moore and Copelin where supposed to be the "fill" for DGB, of course DGB would never have finished his senior year either, if he was still here. Seems strange that a spread offense would have that much trouble attracting WR recruits does it not?

While Pinkel loves to abuse his "best player plays" line, "best player" can be pretty subjective, we know he abhors mistakes and young players are more prone to mistakes than experienced guys. Of course if we had the ability to put a game away by halftime against a weak team you would think the young guys would see plenty of action. In that situation the WR's do little though, because we know it's gonna be a run play up the middle, or just take a knee.

Why?

What has Moore done besides drop a ball that hit him in the numbers. Leftwich is probably the fastest guy on the team that isn't redshirting.

As for the OL shuffling. They never should have moved McGovern in the first place so Id be surprised if this didn't help the interior of the line quite a bit.
