There are no hotels available, i see listing for several "apartments or town houses" but im skeptical. I do not want to share an apartment or house with other people "if this is the case" Me and the wife are comming up for the weekend of tennessee game and trying to figure out what is best. Not wanting to pay $300 a night to stay at the super 8 in oxford! TIA

I've rented an apartment on AirBnB in Oxford both times I've gone and it's worked out perfectly. Both times convenient to campus and not outrageously expensive. That's what I would suggest

I also booked in like May before the games though so that might have been why it was reasonable

I would say most of the apartment/town house rentals are legit.

The majority of fans looking this late will probably stay in Memphis or Tupelo.

Tunica is also an option.

If you want to stay in town, you've pretty much got to rent an apartment or house for the weekend. I've done this several times and it's been ok every time. You don't share the house or apartment with others.

I've used CollegeWeekends.com, VRBO.com, and a list that the Oxford Chamber of Commerce makes available. The good thing about CollegeWeekends is that they take credit cards and you can book online. Several local realtors also do weekend rentals.

If you've got a camper/RV, you can stay at either John W. Kyle or Wall Doxey state parks. These parks also have cabins and are a short drive from Oxford.

Another nice option can be staying at New Albany. It's about 30 minutes away, easy drive to Oxford.

You're fine renting an apartment/townhome and it's definitely the way to go. I know if I'm traveling in for a road game, I want to experience the whole atmosphere both the night before on the square, and the entire gameday in the Grove. I'm not a fan on driving from Tupelo, Tunica, New Albany, etc. I'd much rather pay up and drink myself retarded without having to worry about driving anywhere afterwards.
