Running out of the tunnel through smoke...

is this new? Maybe I'm too drunk for kickoffs, or I'm just paying attention to other things, but Saturday was the first time I can recall us running through smoke onto the field prior to kickoff. How long have we done this?
I'm not overly pleased with it, it seems very amateur IMO. But I mean, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter one way or the other so whatever.

They've done it for the past couple of seasons. Personally, I don't care since it's done right there where the recruits sit and it's probably cool to them. We used to do this and the little expand-o tunnel back in the 90s. Anyone else remember that?

Oh ok. Saturday was the first game I've gone to sober in a while so I guess I just missed it before.

Vaguely, I also remember the team being led onto the field by cheerleaders on a massive fire hydrant

They actually brought the hydrant back a few years ago but I don't think they used for but one game
Uga actually used it as a doghouse IIRC before the current house he sleeps in

I personally think we should get a new doghouse that has an actual architect design it and give it the tall white columns and make the SOB look like a beautiful plantation style house. Give it a/c, landscaping, and even have a rocking chair for Russ on the porch.
If AU wants to have the raptor center and LSU a tiger habitat it's only fair that we give Uga a house nicer than 95% of the population.

Right? frick, I want to make Reveille feel like a fricking biker count when she rolls into town in a few years with A&M. Why are we not funding this?
ETA: though, to be fair, Uga does have a house in Savannah and his own hotel room on campus
But still, I don't think it's horribly unreasonable to have at least an on-field luxury box nicer than that of the University President, do you?

For real though, I'm thinking that the best thing to do there is just replace one of the artifical fields with the IPF. Getting rid of either one has pros and cons.
Though, knowing how UGA operates, we'll opt to just put it on South Milledge because we just built that nice knew stone fence around the perimeter of the lower fields and god forbid we have to tear it down.
