Troy is usually "decent" they must be something awful this year. Georgia does have a very good backfield tho.

They are but that doesn't diminish these stats IMO.

Gurley has the majority, yea, but the other guys get the ball a decent amount too. And this isn't against all cupcakes. That includes Clemson, South Carolina, and then a terrible Troy.

Gurley is averaging a first down every carry, and Bobo throws it on 1st and Goal from the 4 yard line

We could hold Gurley until the second half of the rest of the games and let him blow apart the tired defenses

FWIW Wilds had as many YPC vs UGA as Gurley had vs us.

The Bautasaurus Read Option and Sony the Hedge Dawg will take up at least one full day of UTk's practice time this week.

All is going according to plan.

Wilds looked very good. To be THAT guy though I'll say that having a competent passing game did him a lot more favors.

Truth be told I can't help but think UGA protects Gurley too much. I understand the advantage of having him less fatigued late in the game, and UGA's RB depth helps that cause but it seems like they are putting a pitch count UGA's "Ace".

eta: I just feel like the ball should actually be in his hands more than it is. The guy clearly hates losing and he seems to me that, like Lattimore, would actually get stronger as the game goes along.. especially if the team wanted to put the game on his shoulders.

I'd like to use him more but I also like keeping him fresh not just in cames but for all season. South Carolina I thought he was used a good amount. I think he had 20 touches that game? Maybe more. I prefer he get around 25. Clemson he didn't get it enough but I was ok with USC and Troy.

Only time vs USC I was mad was on a 3rd down run with Chubb. I like Chubb but with him in there was no mistake that we were gonna run because he was brought in for that play and is a freshman you don't want pass blocking. And it was in the fricking gun. That should have been Gurley. Otherwise not bad.

Has UGA ever used him as that safety valve dump off receiver? or an RB screen pass? That's one of Spurrier's calling cards and I can't imagine seeing DBs trying to get to Gurley in open space.
