Comparison - 2013 to 2014 scoring offense and defense

Through 5 games (2 SEC opponents, FCS opponent, SMU, and Rice)

2013 points scored - 247 (49.4 ppg)
2014 points scored - 256 (51.2 ppg)

2013's numbers include 3 defensive touchdowns

2013 points allowed - 154 (30.8 ppg)
2014 points allowed - 75 (15 ppg)

2013's numbers include a defensive touchdown
2014's numbers include a ST touchdown

Yes, I think by the time we get to Alabama we are going to know exactly what this team can do.

Agreed that we will know by then. But I wonder if this Saturday might not just tell us everything we need to know?

Could. Their defense is salty as hell. If we think Flowers from Arky gave us fits, just wait til their d line gets in our face. And their offense has about as many dimensions as we will face all season.

Going to be a very difficult game.

I don't think there's any way to overestimate the challenge that this game will be. Arky tested our mettle--State will do the same.

How much of that was rust by Mike Matthews? (Compton played pretty much all of the Rice and SMU games)
