Mason and Thompson are within a yard of each other on yards per attempt.

Thompson 8 ypa, Mason 7.12 ypa.

Mason's longest in the last three weeks-

35 yards vs Troy
36 yards vs USC
-- bye week

Thompson's longest in the last 3 weeks-

29 yards vs Vandy
25 yards vs UGA
31 yards vs ECU

Something tells me this isn't a good comparison to prove the point you want to prove, but I'm too lazy to put any additional thought into it. Carry on.

CNB I agree with you in principle but even though its only been 3 weeks there has been a good bit of talk of how Mason cant throw on the boards..

On a brighter note.. We saw the future yesterday and the future looks good

I think its great. We had to rely to much on Aaron Murray over the past four years, and so many times a mistake was made whether it be a stupid interception, Gates and Lynch missing blocks and letting Murray get pummeled and fumble, or just bad play calls. Mason is doing exactly what he is being asked to do, aside from the intentional grounding at the roach. He is completing 70% of his passes with no picks, you can't ask much more of your quarterback. I think the less UGA has to rely on Mason, the better chances we have.

I tend to agree. Before the season started all of us (or almost all) were saying he didn't have to carry the team. All he needed to do was mange the ball, not make mistakes. That is exactly what he is doing.

And, for any and all that bemoan that he hasn't thrown the ball deep? He runs the plays that are called from the sideline. I suspect we will see them open it up a bit as the season goes along. When he came in at the end of last year he threw the ball well. As the receivers and he feel more confident with each other we will throw the ball more and open up the offense a bit. I think we will see a much improved passing game in a couple more weeks.

^ Exactly, if we can get Mitchell and Wesley back full speed, we will see a bomb or two.

That's rich coming from you...you're over on the rant eye rolling and such because of rankings...in a season four weeks old.

About rankings? No. Never claimed issue with UGA being ahead of us. Made a joke about it, but that's it.

I simply scoffed at tyler saying UGA "gave the game away".

Exactly.

Mason threw for 800 yards in 2.5 games in 2013 but his longest was only 48 yards, therefore, he isn't a good quarterback.

To be absolutely fair - and I haven't looked this up - but is Mason throwing the ball far vs Thompson or are the WRs getting good YAC?

That's a good question... cuz if the answer is that it's all YAC, then it means Mason has good vision and we have 3 or 4 potential All Americans at wide receiver.

The difference is you have to use a calendar to time Masons throws to reach the receivers. Thompson at least shows some resemblance to a D1 arm. It's just a matter of time until Masons butterflies cost us a game.
