I'm willing to give the guy couple more years but i've had it with his stubbornness and ability to lose games that he shouldn't my question to mizzoufans is if he finishes 4-8 this year and next year would you be more open to a new direction?

I would be comfortable in moving forward. Especially when you pay the man millions upon millions to win and bring more visibility and money to your university. But the question is who would be available within a few years? And how would the mizzou job be viewed? Is it a stepping stone to another top 25 program with a better tradition and better resources or will we invest the money into our program and our coach by paying the money and energy needed to be a destination job?

If we finish 4-8 this year, he'll have to fire some coaches to stay. Just my guess. Two out of 3 SEC seasons below .500 with our OOC schedule isn't going to fly. And it won't fly with Loftin, IMO.

He's our ace in the hole.

The excerpts from his Aggie book prove he has the guts and vision to make the tough decisions.

Alden should have his head on a swivel, too.

Knee jerk all you want, I guarantee Pinkel wont win more than 3 conference games a season the next 2 or 3 years if hes still here.

In reality all coaches at some point lose games they should win. Even the great Saban or Stoops lay an egg now and again. When was the last game Pinkel lost he should have won, not counting Saturday's game?

No way do you want to lose Pinkel. I think he is a pretty good coach. As far as his staff goes, yeh if they go 4-8, which I really don't think they will, he needs to make changes to his staff. DC is the biggest concern.

Mike Alden needs to go. fricking yesterday.

He is absolutely the guy that should be on a magma level hot seat.

Absolutely do not want to lose GP. You want as smooth a transition to the next coach as possible. I'll be the first to admit I knee jerked it after the 2012 season, but calling for his head already, after winning the east last year, is silly. Yes, Indiana was a bad loss. But no, we're just not as good as some people think we are this year. Can't go 11-1 every year in the regular season. Like it or not, this is a rebuilding year. Be respectable. Go to a bowl. Come out next year swinging for the fences.

If that happens look for Josh Henson to head for the NFL.

This is a good year to see what Pinkel can do with lesser talent than most of the other SEC teams, if he gets at least 7 wins I'll say not bad we didn't fall off the cliff. And we can't use any injuries to excuse less than 7 wins, having adequate depth is part of the formula for success in big boy football and that's on the coach as well.

I was one of those asking the question in 2012 if he should be replaced. I never fully dove because of his past and that injury plagued season. I think you have to give him enough time to see if this is a winning season first.

Pinkel is all about taking raw talent and making them win. He and his staff judge talent better than anyone.
What he can't do is recruit the rest of the 4 and 5 stars he offers. They show no interest or put us in their top 5 but we can rarely get them to pull the trigger.
He and his staff are not good play callers. They get lucky with those great raw players. Why would they not have practiced a hail mary and give it a shot at the end of that game???
Why wait to call timeout with :22 left??? Why not change the defense with everyone knowing Indiana, Auburn, Navy, Oklahoma, etc. would run it??? What is the game plan for a run team?
The answer is above.
I'm willing to give them a chance because maybe the recruiting will get better. Players will see that they can coach players up to the NFL and the 5 stars will come on board easier.
I'm willing to take winning seasons over what we had before Pinkel.
For now.

He also said he has no plans on interfering with the staff level of the athletic dept. and that Alden is one of the very best in the business.

With fans that are happy with 6 win bowl seasons, we won't be seeing any changes soon, certainly not soon enough for a lot of us.

I'm in my cooling off period. He's done a lot of things at Mizzou previous coaches didn't have the ability to do.

Don't want to replace Warren Powers with Woody Widenhofer again. Winning consistently in the SEC is very tough unless you're a blueblood program or have a coach and staff that can build something that will turn the program into a blue blood-ish program (ie: Florida.)

I'm sticking with him for a while and hoping for a few more division championships, but the next couple years are very important for the mid term future of the program.

Is this serious?

We won the SEC East last season - our second year in the SEC. What Pinkel has accomplished at Mizzou in the last decade is pretty amazing and we should be asking where his statue should be, not how much longer should we give him.

i don't respect him one bit, I'm entitled to my opinion, I don't like the man and only wish him failure.

Nearly a decade ago we had a 7 win season with a bowl. The only other season near 6 wins was 2012 with the 5-7 record.

GP has had 13 years. Looking at the immediately preceding 13 years:

3-7-1
2-9
4-7
3-7
3-7-1
3-8-1
3-8
6-6
7-5
8-4
4-7
3-8

That's 2 winning seasons with 2 bowls.

Now, the 13 years even before that:

6-5
6-5
4-7
8-4
7-5
8-4
8-4
5-4-2
7-5
3-7-1
1-10
3-8
5-6

8 of 13 years with a winning record and 5 bowl appearances. No one season exceeding 8 wins out of 12 attempts.

Under GP:

4-7
5-7
8-5
5-6
7-5
8-5
12-2
10-4
8-5
10-3
8-5
5-7
12-2

9 out of 13 winning seasons with 9 bowl appearances. 4 times double digit wins. 4 times finished ranked in the top 20 compared to twice in the 26 years before him combined. Twice ranked in the top 5 under GP, zero times in the preceding 26 years.

Characterizing GP's tenure as 6 wins and a bowl game isn't accurate. Yes, i want to win something of significance too, but we've had a pretty damn good ride under GP.

THIS !

Most of you panty wastes wanted him fired after 2012 season...then we went 12-2 in 2013. Lose one game in 2014 and now he needs to be fired because Shortsighted Sally has sand in her vajajay. ridiculous.

Might as well have kept Larry smith, he accomplished just as much. Pinkel is the worst coach ever.
