b/c lol at all their bitching about Miles.

those fools dont know how good they have had it. I always thought they pretended to not know their pre Saban/Miles history but gat damn they really think they are entitled to blowout wins against everyone but Bama.

Here's hoping that Sumlin can get our hopes up to unrealistic expectations.

I wonder how long before they realize their messiah OC is a fricking terrible college coordinator. Their offense, as designed, is all about execution. Yet they are loaded with talent everywhere and can't execute basic running plays.

This place is a gold mine of melting LSU fans. I can't imagine what it was like after the national title

Oh, it was entertaining for sure. They were all ready to fire Miles for getting them to another title game and losing to the better team.

There are some of them with more realistic expectations on there, but they are few and far between.

Miles is a great coach, and the run of success he's had is something to praise. My cousin went to LSU, but hates miles and thinks they should fire him. At first I tried to reason with him, but now I just egg him on whenever the slightest thing goes wrong. The SECw is TOUGH to get out of, but the miles haters seem to think they "can bring anyone in and with the talent we have blah blah blah". Texas fans thought the same thing. Brown may have had flaws but he won them an NC and that bought him a lot of goodwill. Miles won an NC and has done better against tougher completion, he still posts 10 win seasons.

I honestly think Miles is kind of a dumbass as a coach but he's always so loaded with talent it kind of hides his discrepancies.

What discrepancies are those?

Offensive gameplanning, philosophies, clock management, etc. He has done good things at LSU, but he pretty much inherited a loaded program from Nick Saban and has reaped the benefits ever since.

As someone who has followed LSU since the Saban days (my dad is an alum), I can tell you that Les Miles is frustrating. It's easy to just look at the record, but Les Miles has shown time and time again that he is stubborn as hell, costing the team wins and maybe even titles.

He takes FOREVER to fire coaches. And not once in his career have I seen it end well when he has held onto a coach that the fans hated. They are usually right, and he eventually makes the move a year or two later than he should.

Their offense has been a complete joke minus one year where they had an NFL caliber QB throwing to two high NFL draft picks. But he chooses to put spread option type QBs under center. It's fricking college football. No reason to play two TEs and a QB under center every play. You are just helping out the defense.

And I didn't even mention how lucky the guy gets. I can remember very few times when Les Miles has had bad luck cost him a game, and plenty of times when good luck has gone his way.

There really is something weird about the way Les Miles loses though. It's like watching a guy lose a knife fight without ever drawing his knife.

Good observation--he really is like fricking Houdini sometimes when it comes to adversity

I mean, hell, he was within a hail mary of pulling off the crazy comeback against State, and LSU got their fannies kicked up and down the field that game. It's crazy.

I'm going to keep adding things. Les Miles has not shown that he has the ability to win a national championship at LSU. He has the luckiest national championship in the history of college football. His team lost two games, and everyone and their brother lost that last weekend (including West Virginia to an awful Pitt team).

He has the national championship obviously. But it was not a title worthy season. Now, 2011 was a different story. The defense and special teams was the best I've ever seen in college football, and Tyrann Mathieu changed every big game for them. Looking back, I think he deserved the Heisman. But the title game that year showed Les Miles' arrogance with his 1980 Big Ten offense. And LSU has never really recovered from that game.

I give Les Miles credit for hiring awesome assistant coaches and recruiting great players, but the dude has had offensive problems since he got there. He was an offensive line coach for 12 years, they get tons of blue chip OLs, and he almost never sees them drafted. Not to mention, he has never recruited a high school QB that went on to be successful at LSU (Mett was a transfer that spent time at Georgia and JUCO).

Yeah. And you know what the dumbass says the next day on the radio? "We could have won that game with 30 more seconds." JEEZ, LES! Let's just forget all of the lucky shite that happened. It's like a guy who pushes all in with KQ against AA. Then he catches a K, and says, if I caught another King on the river, I win the hand.

I usually like Les' interviews. He's up there with Spurrier, Saban, and Sumlin with my favorite coaches in the conference, tbh.

But his comments after this last game were way off the mark.

Agree with everything swaggercopter said. 100% They could have beaten Alabama in that title game a couple years ago but the difference was that Saban coached his team up and made adjustments to the approach of that game while Miles did not. They ran the same stupid shite that they used in the regular season matchup and it got them nowhere because Alabama was ready.

Alabama was the better team (not by a huge margin, mind you) the first go-round. LSU was extremely fortunate to escape in OT. Saban coaching them up while Miles sat on his hands produced the overwhelming gap revealed by :21-0:
