Even though I grew up an Alabama fan, I will always pull for Tennessee when they are not playing the Tide. Not necessarily in order of importance, here are some reasons -

- Tennessee is a beautiful state
- Passionate college fans that were filling a 100,000 seat stadium long before anyone else in the south was
- The university has one of the great fight songs
- They are home of the music industry for every kind of music from gospel, country, blues, to rock
- Their residents have a tradition of being patriotic

Most importantly, they played a huge part in preventing Al Gore from being president. How many presidential candidates have not carried their home state? Hanging chads aside, this was huge. I couldn't imagine going from a Clinton, to a Gore, to a Obama presidency.

Oh and no thanks to Arkansas.

Nah, that is the beauty of college football. There are about 127 teams to choose from. In addition to my own school, I can pull for teams from my home town, my home state, underdogs, etc...

You can pull for them, sure. But being a FAN is different. I don't get why so many people don't understand that. You can pull for teams, you can even LIKE teams, but that's very different from being a FAN of a team.

I'd say I'm a fan. Even though I live in Texas, I have bought season tickets to Georgia Tech and have flown back to a bunch of the games. I've been to a bunch of UAB games when they played in Texas and Louisiana. I also go to several Alabama games a year.

No, you are just being a bit immature. My wife is and always will be beautiful. She has also put up with me for a long, long time and loves college football about as much as I do.

The odds are just not stacked in your favor, my man. First of all, you went to GT. You probably wear a pocket protector and have taped together glasses. Second of all, your wife went to TAMU. She probably weighs 300 lbs. I bet y'all are smart and make a lot of money, but you'll always be nerdy and ugly. You win some, you lose some. Good luck in your future logarithms brother.

Not exactly a positive, considering what we ended up with.
