Based on reading the SECR, AU sucks and that game shouldn't have been close. To me, from start to finish, I felt like we were going to see an upset happen. AU played solid bend but don't break D and when they needed a turnover, they forced one. I may be in the minority, but based on what I have seen from AU this year, they are still the top team in the West. There's nothing like seeing your team face a little adversity on the road early in the season, and seeing them prevail. It wasn't pretty at times, but the job was done. War Eagle!

It was funny listening to the talking heads all week, because they were mostly of the same position. "Auburn on upset alert" and what not, yet when they made picks, Auburn by a few TD's

We played very poorly. I mean I lost count of how many passes we dropped. They had a good defensive gameplan, and that stadium was a hornets nest.

Yeah AU played sloppy offensively in the 1st half. I kept getting that "here we go" feeling. The D rose to the occasion though.

I was impressed with the D. Not perfect, but they made plays. Most of their offensive production was the QB rolling out to not get sacked, and hitting that white kid when he broke his route off. That is a hard thing to defend. We should have had him on the ground, but they didn't have a lot of sustained drives. They just had amazingly good starting field position all game.

You can't really overreact to this game, it's a tough scenario. The number of highly ranked teams that go down on Thursday night on the road is staggering. This is one that Auburn just needed to survive, and they did. Wasn't pretty, but still a win

That would be TAMU so far, but I agree with everything else you said. Auburn is a team people love to hate so we will never get the benefit of the doubt, but you're right on.

Good luck tomorrow

Then this guy shows up and ruins the entire scene.

I didn't think it would be that close, but I was buying into some of the hype. KSU at home on a thurs night is definitely the makings for an upset. It could have happened, but Auburn survived. Ugly win? Yes, but still a win against a ranked opponent on the road. I'll take it.

If you are counting on the Rant to give you objectionable, in-depth analysis on a game, you can look elsewhere. Look it up, Bama sucks too.

To you, your team played great and did well in a tough environment. You are probably the smart one here. But to most, even AU fans (go read the game threads and the Auburn board) they expected a blowout.

I agree with you by the way - it was a good win. But, I do see Auburn as being on the same level as many of the top tier SEC teams at the moment. I think it will still take a few weeks to sort out the pecking order. AU may be the best, then again, they may not be. It may be Bama. It may be LSU. TAM? All the teams have a lot to prove beyond beating middle of the road out of conference teams - and struggling somewhat to do that. None of the teams anyone has faced are world beaters and playoff contenders either.
