I agree with this and it should be stressed that our cbs did not get beat too often, it was more throwing in the hole in our zone underneath. I also have it on good authority that USC lineman may still be cleaning our d lines jerseys out of their finger nails.

I think the staff saw it as did most guys who ever watched film. Not to take away from the author...

Agreed

Our glaring weakness has been the secondary for the last 2 years. Everyone knows we are playing with alot of youth and new players. Just going to have to recruit some guys and keep improving what we have.

So WG....you gonna admit that it may take time to turn this defense around?

I'm not trying to be a dick but ....

....well yeah, maybe a little bit. Plus somebody actually bumped that thread to laugh at me after the CU game.

sucks being right all the time...

I assume that we went into the game thinking we would take away their run while at the same time being deep with our safetys ttto prevent the home run ball spurrier loves to throw off PA. I think we also assumed we would get pressure casuing higher throws on those 8 to 15 yard routes getting us some ints. We shut down the run and got not much of a pass rush and he made rather easy throws underneath what looked to me like a cover 2 man under scheme...which is why the LBs were quick to grab their guy and it would seem those players were clearing for the primmary receiver running those little slide routes in the middle unnder the safetys but behind the lbs, who many times were not even there as they manned up... in the second half, we got out of that and they quit passing but ran the ball real well...
