Speaking to the media about something that they've got a closed door policy on, maybe? I'm guessing.

Was a McGill guy. McGarity never impressed, Dan passes, Frank put out to pasture...

Rumblings I've heard is that he's the beginning of the end of the old guard in Athens. IMO it's wishful thinking for those who are wanting to see big spending from the AD but I've got nothing to shoot it down with either so it's possible.

I go and get myself excited that things may be changing after the Clemson game and get punished for it. I can't go and do it again so soon haha.

He couldn't stop the nightmares about that fake bootleg call. Needed a change of scenery.

I do some business with the athletic dept. I hope they bring in some folks who are easier to work with. Other SEC schools have better chains-of-command.

It has become such big business that perhaps the arse kissers and being a friend of Dooley may not be enough any more.... I don't know anything specific. I do know that arse kissing was the most important trait to have a long career in that group...

He was the head of finance and such for the AD. Also served as interim AD b=inbetween Evans and McGarity.

That is my first clue. Got a few different scenarios floating around in my head.

I used to do a lot of business with the UGA AD (before I smartened up and sold my business) and while they had almost bottomless pockets the good 'ole boy network (which was why I was doing business with them...on the periphery admittedly but being any where near that much money and power is intoxicating) was very much alive and well....I bid a $6.5 million project once and was told unequivocally that I wouldn't get it no matter how low I was because it had already been "promised" to a better connected competitor. It was my experience though that the AD was well managed even with the good ole' boy workings going on...
By the way, if you want to make a lot of money trading with UGA you want to work with the AD, the Law School and the Vet School, in that order. All 3 have lots of money and do lots of "stuff". I don't know about the business school but the school of Journalism is a lot like a church....lofty goals, no cash.....

Business School is dropping some major coin ATM on their new complex off Lumpkin.
Law school has been responsible for a stupid number of senators, governors, judges, and high-priced lawyers so that doesn't surprise me at all.
Vet School pretty much has the market cornered in the state so that one also makes sense.
There is next to no money in the actual field of Journalism (relatively speaking), so...
