Pruitt taking the blame for the loss

quote:

"It's embarrassing for me to be a part of a team that scores 35 points and you lose a football game," Pruitt said. "That's pretty embarrassing. And I'll be the first to say I've got to do my part on this side to fix that so that doesn't happen again."

Blame Bobo all you want, but 35 should be enough points to win a football game.

Encouraging quote but thats what has plagued this team for years now. He's known that all he has to do is remotely slow the other team down since he took the job and it didn't happen Saturday. fricking Spurrier

First person to find a Grantham quote where he blames himself for giving up a lot of points wins.

I hope he's HC in waiting. That's the attitude that's lacking in this program.

Quite honestly that's the perfect response.

Pruitt isn't use to losing and I imagine he's going to push harder.

DB Coach at Bama 10-12: 10-3 | 12-1 | 13-1
DC @ FSU 13: 14-0

During these 4 years only 1 team has scored 35 and beaten him - South Carolina 35 Alabama 21 (2010)

Still feel things on the defensive side click come UT and we begin to shut things down.

FSU fans will point to playing Boston College last year as the turning point for them (BC a 7-6 team put up 34 points against FSU)

Im very happy to see him own up to this loss...it was on the defense. Our offense did everything they could to win. That last TD should have been in trash time, not for the game. frick everyone blaming this loss on the Offense and Bobo...this was a very bad Grantham-esq defensive performance and it cost us the game.

He should say that.

Grantham was such a dick and never put shite on himself. I'm surprised Richt and he worked together as long as they did.

I like Pruitt....I hope it isn't because Grantham was such a double barrelled prick (like when a woman treats you like shite and you fall hard for the next one). He is absolutely correct and owned up for his part in the USC debacle. With his pedigree you gotta think that he is very unhappy and is working double time to make certain that things turn around. If he can get it done we still have everything on the table. If you can rely on your defense to get the other team off the field on about every other possession and can win the field position battle you can afford to pound the ball and wear the opponents defense out. If every third down you face is a do or die situation where you know you gotta move the chains or get further behind there is a lot of added pressure that leads to mistakes....

GO DAWGS!!!

Probably sucks to be a defensive player in practice this week.

Disturbing to see the ole ball coach school Pruitt. Let's put things in perspective this year shall we? Pruitt inherited SEC caliber talent at FSU last year and played in a weak conference. He could afford to make some mistakes here and there. Guys, I hate to break it to you, but Pruitt is still an inexperienced coordinator in a tougher league now without overwhelming talent. He has to grow as a play caller as well.
