Is the author of the article a Grady grad?

Regardless of what dawg fans think this seems to be the prevailing thought when it comes to Richt and Georgia
Which I mean. take it FWIW. Rolling Stone just kicking a dawg while it's down. Dick heads.

But then, this is what Georgia does: They tantalize you with their potential, and then they crash amid a flood of irrational exuberance. They are, as a friend noted upon the Bulldogs' collapse Saturday evening, the closest thing college football has to a mortgage-backed security.
The truth....it's hurting me :(

UGA...the Chicago Cubs of NCAA football. Sad but true. Still hanging hats on that last national championship 35 years ago...and blowing the chances that have come along since then.

more like the atlanta braves
one championship in the modern era, but had the talent to win many more.

Ugh depressing. I want to experience at least one championship. Braves, falcons and dawgs are sure good at breaking our hearts.

Charlie Brown is a little tough...but Richt's life does indicate he isn't the competitor that many in his profession are...especially the truly successful. His acceptance of that fact that he wasn't a starter at Miami, his oft stated wish to remain at UGA forever, and his adherence to a set of personal values that puts him at a competitive disadvantage (read not willing to win at any cost) all speak volumes about his Charlie Brown-ness.
I am not slamming Richt....only one person at a time can be the best at what they do...and his refusal to win at any cost is admirable in a profession where Nick Saban is the top dog...most of us are more like Charlie Brown than we are Nick Saban...of course very few of us find ourselves in a position where we are earning the kind of money that Richt earns OR has the responsibilities that Richt has.....so our Charlie Brown-ness is not as noticeable

The rolling stone? Nobody reads that shite anymore. They can't publish a credible music article let alone a sports related one.

I'm not a fan of the left leaning Rolling Stone but the article sadly is pretty spot on. Basically they are saying that Georgia with Richt at the helm has choked often in key games and they are correct. This pretty much sums it up:
===============================================
Mark Richt, who has led his team to a bowl game every one of his first 13 years at Georgia, and who is recognized as a genuinely kind man in an often cutthroat profession (he and his wife, devout Christians, adopted two children from the Ukraine – hell, even his chalkboard breakdown of his swinging accident is undeniably charming) and a man who just can't seem to get his shite together when it matters, which is why none of those Richt bowl games have ever been played with a national title on the line.
