I love our ties to the old south just as much as the next Ole Miss fan from Mississippi, but changing the name of Confederate Drive needs to happen. I am perfectly fine with changing anything that might scare off a recruit.

Don't care. When I get pissed about street names, you are too much.

It doesn't need to happen. Unfortunately the PC crowd will chalk this up as another W

Look, I really don't have an opinion on whether it stays or goes. I'm not on the 'THAR TAKUN AR TRADISHUNS' side of the fence whatsoever. I just don't think it's that big of a deal.

I'm all for supporting anything for the betterment of the University, but like I said - personally i don't think it's that big of a deal

Meh. It's a street name. As long as they never try to take away the Confederate monument or try to get people to ignore that we have a confederate cemetery on campus, I'll be fine. I agree some things need to be changed but taking away monuments and locations honoring the dead should never happen.

I think they should move the black fraternities on the same street as the white so no one feels left out

Laziest of all arguments on the subject. If you tear down a statue of hitler it doesn't change the fact that Hitler existed, but it does say "our community will not be represented by Hitler"

There used to be a black fraternity house on Fraternity Row but it was torn down in 2006 or so.

Hate to say this, but after they remove the name Ole Miss, they'll get the name Rebels, Red, Blue & the Grey pants won't be safe, either.

Ditch the Black Bear & go for the War of Independence/ Continental Soldier Rebel & the 13 STARs & STRIPEs.

Chi Psi?

I think it was torn down in 2008, right when I arrived in Oxford. It was right by the SAE house, if I recall correctly.
