i like gary and if verne doesn't call us wisconsin 100 times they'll be better than what we had this past weekend.

If we wanted to jump back into the college football landscape in a big way, we'd beat a top 5-7 A&M on national TV.

Before this week, I'd have said this one would take a near-perfect game for us to win. After A&M's Rice escapades and what we learned during TTech, I think that we have a legit chance.

One game, obviously, doesn't tell the whole story. But I have SO much more confidence in the defense after last week. I don't know if it's the coaches philosophies finally taking hold, or competition breeding better play. But Gaines looks like the old Gaines, kinda. He seems to be playing faster. But he needs to if he wants to stay on the field.

Get the impression that Liddell is going to get the most playing time of his career versus A&M. His instincts and speed stand out.

One can only hope that the LB's coverage skills they showed this past weekend are a sign of things to come. If those guys start clicking consistently we're going to be trouble for a lot of teams.

A&M is still likely to throw for 400+ yards on us. Probably will score 35+ points, too. But I think we've got a chance to run for 300 and throw for 200. And that should give us a shot. Should be fun.
