Just wondering how horn fans now feel about A&M being in the SEC and the recruitment of Texas football players to an in state SEC school.

Or has A&M going to the SEC been a good move for Texas and say Oklahoma and the Big 12. And why do they still call the conference the Big 12 with only 10 members?

Big 10 and Big 12 should trade names

Maybe the delusional Aggie fans realize their success has to do mainly with recruiting against Texas and Oklahoma and not LSU.

I love how some of those fricktards thought the Aggies were good in the 90's b/c they played LSU. Now, maybe they can see the real light. It mostly has do with Texas not LSU.

Texas' hubris won't allow them to admit that they screwed up.

Some realize.
Some don't.

Depends on the size of their ego.

They can't figure out how the coin toss works so it's not likely they have anything else figured out either.

They will never admit they did anything wrong.

As one Horn fan told me: It was the "Malcontents" that screwed the conference.

That soliloquy of yours had nothing to do with anything, I hate to break it to you

Nice attempt though

Its funny, every once in a while you will find one of them realizing the dire circumstances their administration has put them in and the current reality that exists around them. However, groupthink is quick to squash these ideas on their boards. It's like reading 1984 over and over again.

Might want to ask Speedy Noil about that.

Speedy doesn't matter to LSU fans. Louisiana produces skill players like him every year...that's why they were so calm and understanding when he chose A&M.

I honestly can't decipher the point you're trying to make, other than "A&M bad, LSU good".

To answer OP, there is growing unease. It's still the minority, but there are some horn posters that are getting worried. And then there are a few that want to embrace the suck, burn it down, and rebuild, like this guy:

If you truly want radical change...
then you should pull hard for Texas A&M.

That's what I said. If you want to keep floating along in the Big 12 with our little LHN and a forgettable home schedule year after year, then a mediocre Texas A&M can get that for us.

But if A&M starts winning and winning big, Texas will have to either bust a move, or resign to 2nd place in Texas. (if not 3rd or 4th...)

This revelation came to me the other day while watching A&M vs. South Carolina. I'm not going to begrudge Texas A&M any longer. I'm going to pull for them. What makes winners? Competition.

Will they kill us in recruiting? So be it. Will they surpass our brand? So be it. The only thing Texas will respond to is being second-class. Texas never does well with second-class status, and action becomes mandatory.

All I can conclude is, it does me no good to wish ill will on Texas A&M, and then sit along here in this uneventful conference watching a TV channel that everybody's already tired of. (if they get it) So more power to the Aggies, just because we were foresightless dumbasses, no reason to be petty about all this.

Once A&M steals the stage for good, Texas will do something.

I think all parties involved with breakup of the 2010 big12 were selfish and foolish. Currently you would have to say the only schools that have benefitted from the foolishness are A&M, Mizzou, Baylor, and TCU.

I don't think the recruiting will be an issue. A&M has certainly improved itself permanently by offering Texas kids who want to stay in state a chance to play in the SEC. But the state of Texas is such an amazing source of talent that it can easily sustain multiple top 10 programs.

Texas' recruiting woes have been voluntary. Griffin, Manziel and Winston have all gone on record as saying they wanted to play at UT but were not recruited as QBs. That's 3 heisman winning QBs missed by a school that desperately needs a QB.

I very much wish the Big12 could get back to 12 teams, but there aren't any good options regionally. As someone who grew up in Big10 country, seeing the Big10 add east coast schools to go up to 14 members is much more infuriating.

I think the real question is has Texas figured out is it is really one of the more overrated programs of all time?

You are absolutely correct, but it got that way because self interest ruled the B12, and Texas lead the conference in self interest. It's pulled back some, but only after the damage was done.

B12 could have been one of the first to have a network, but instead opted towards school driven networks. Huge bad move. Weiberg said it was impossible to get 9 votes for anything.

UT's approach to handling B10 poaching was to use a hammer and threats to fellow members.
