ATHENS — Mark Richt admitted immediately after Saturday’s game that he regretted his team’s now-infamous play call on first-and-goal. A day later, Georgia’s head coach said that wasn’t his only issue with the play.

you're shitting on him for discussing officiating? You realize every coach in the league does this weekly right?

He is also worried about this: (will he get reprimanded for talking about the officials.)

Richt said he wants a review of the holding penalty that left guard Brandon Kublanow was called for to negate a 54-yard touchdown run by Todd Gurley. The Bulldog coach said he thought the block was a legal one.

"On that particular play, we thought Kublanow was in the framework of the defender. We thought it was legal. What happened was, I don't remember if it was one of his teammates or one of our guys, but somebody actually kind of clipped the back of the defender's leg as they were running through there," Richt said. "It might have been a back running a route, I don't know what happened, but he kind of got tripped up and it looked like Kublanow kind of grabbed him and swung him to the ground but in reality, he got tripped up by someone behind him so it may have appeared as if it was kind of a takedown. I really don't think it was. We'll turn it in and see what they think after reviewing."

As someone who despises everything UGA football more than any in the SEC, I got to admit, this is a terribly misleading thread title.

It does get people's attention though, but not even close to being true

He says he plans to consult the SEC Office on those issues, but doesn't say what results he hopes will come of it. So I am forced to assume....

Every head coach sends plays to the home office. It is standard....

OK, I edited the thread title, but it's essentially the same thing. I remember the 2011 game @ UGA, the hold-fest by the UGA OL on Ingram, Clowney, and other defensive players was so blatant. There was an online recruiting site that took a ton of pictures of the holds with USC players' helmets sideways, shoulder-pads halfway totally exposed from jerseys being pulled off of them. There was a ton of such photos, with nary a holding call on UGA...

But USC staff never said a word about it. Probably because USC won the game regardless....

Actually, they probably did send plays into the sec offices for explanation. Every coach does so the sec can fine tune officiating and coaches can get clarification for future games.

Do you think Richt would also like to discuss Gurley's headbutt?

Or the illegal blocking that got called on our WR on a UGA INT return? I would love for them to talk about who our WR could possibly be trying to block while trying to tackle the guy who had INTd the ball.

And it's still misleading. Even the gamecock above knows the reality that you somehow don't. This is standard, every single coach talks to the league after games about officiating. It happens every single weekend. Richt isn't doing anything different than every other coach does. He's not contacting them "about the loss" like he's trying to overturn it or some shite.

When they're good teams that lose close games. UGA/Richt should be used to this.

And I'm sure Spurrier will highlight those plays in the tape he sends in.

Is a headbutt an automatic ejection like a punch? If it had been seen

I guess not. Our guy only got a personal foul for head butting Gurley.

So...he wants clarification on some calls to ensure he correctly understands the rules and their enforcement? Sounds like a good coach to me.

I wonder if Saint Mark brought up the fact that his tPOS running back should have been ejected from the game for two consecutive personal fouls?

No. He was referring to the Florida game last year because a gator fan was mouthing off in that thread. And he did post pictures on the next page.
