Went back and watched the 3 plays after the interception.

1st down - bad call by Bobo but Mason had a Quayvon open to the right. Just had to take two steps forward and throw.

2nd down - No issue with Mason here

3rd down - no pressure in pocket. Rushed a throw before the receivers had even completed their first pattern breaks. Threw to a receiver at the 5 yd line with 3 SC men around him. Even if he catches it still a field goal situation.

In his defense, should never have been put on his shoulders.

No he didn't. Mason played a good game and converted several key 3rd downs to keep us in that game in the second half. The game was lost by dumb playcalling and missed field goals (and defense). I thought Mason showed a lot of promise in that second half. I think our offense is 80% right now, passing game will improve dramatically when we get Mitchell, JSW, and Rumph back. People that are blaming this loss on Mason are laughable.

Did I say he didn't play a good game. NO

So I don't post a lot, does that make a difference in my opinion. NO

I'm just saying the man had a chance to be a hero and failed.

Mason completed 2 of 9 3rd downs, while the running backs were 3 of 4 on 3rd down conversions. I think Mason converted 1 first down each half. So I dont know where you get that he completed "several key 3rd downs to keep us in the game in the second half" from.

He also botched the snap and fumbled on 3rd down too.

Dawgman, these fellow uga posters just can't see talent. If they can, then they will know that Mason is nothing more than a Joe Cox clone. He might not throw an int, but that is the only good thing they can say about him. Well when you only throw the ball 10 yards, I wouldn't expect too many ints anyway. Coaches obvious don't believe in him to win us games, hence why they keep all his passes on the short routes. Either that or Mason is too gun shy to wait for the longer routes to develop. Either way, were a 9 win team at best, and next year we will be fricked too b/c Mason will probably play the whole season.

From my perspective, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

The guy is exactly what Mccarron was, he just doesn't have the same elite defense.

Everyone going into the game was lamenting "ooooooh omg UGA hasn't thrown a TD in columbia in a decade!!!!". He threw 2. He was confident and poised, and that was without his top 2 receivers. Say what you want, but this game was lost by UGA's defense. Mason is like the 10th person down the list that should be blamed for the loss. I don't see how any rational person could say Mason "wet the bed".

Either a bunch of tech nerds or some other team's fans. They need to be gone.

I felt like mason played decent minus the intentional grounding call and the botched snaps. Does anybody else notice that Mason moves before it seems like he has the ball under center I noticed it like 6 times and that may be a reason why he has mishandled the snap. It's like he anticipates too soon the ball getting there. Just an observation

Not even close. Mason is supposed to be a "gunslinger". He is playing "gun shy". Scared to make mistakes. Shows in his delay in getting the ball to receivers. Shows in his panic in the pocket. He is close to 40% on third down. We have three running backs averaging more per run than he is per pass. There is a reason Bobo is calling all the underneath passes. I like Mason but it is time for him to let it rip.

Mason is about a 7 out of 10 in my book. Not bad, not great.

7 at the QB position is good enough with all the talent we have around him.

Just wasn't good enough yesterday.

Kid, really. He's a 22 year old playing qb in the SEC. Its a man's game in a man's league. All the frick I'm saying is that he screwed up at the time of the game he needed to step up. Go look at the damn plays in slow motion and see what the hell I'm talking about in my original post.
