Spurrier Now Beat UGA More Times Than Any Other Coach

He is 16-6 overall versus UGA as a head coach, breaking the tie with former AU HC Shug Jordan as the all-time winningest Head Coach versus the Bulldogs. And with the win over UGA last night, Spurrier is now tied with legendary UGA HC Vince Dooley for 2nd place all-time with 201 SEC wins, behind only UA's Bear Bryant.
The big question may very well be: was beating Spurrier in 1966 and thus taking away the SEC Championship from Florida - which would have been UF's 1st-ever SEC football title - worth all this afterwards, for the UGA faithful? Two years later - after Spurrier had already gone off to the NFL - UGA stomped on UF to the tune of 51-0, with Dooley opting to score more TDs in the final minutes in a game that was long-ago decided. Spurrier well remembers that game today, even though he didn't play in it.
Imagine what would've happened had UGA not tried to humiliate Spurrier and UF all those years ago, for 1 or 2 SEC titles. Was it all worth it to y'all, UGA fans? What say you?

what a ridiculously stupid fricking question.
ETA: The man is a football coach. It's his job to win football games. He doesn't say "oh shite, we're playing UGA this week...now I need to REALLy try to win this time!"

With this logic, Spurrier will beat Texas A&M for years to come...because they humiliated the hell out of you.

I'm sorry. It's an informative post and an interesting question but I can't seem to drag my attention away from that turkey wattle neck and deformed chin long enough to give the post the reply it deserves.
Spurrier is awesome, though. I hope he coaches for another 10 years.

I hope so. At least next year we'll take in a pass rush to the game. We are stacked with Prep and JUCO DE's coming in this class.

Well, considering that a part of that current pact with the devil appears to be "not getting the opportunity to play for a SEC title" in exchange for beating UGA, I guess I can live with it.

You obviously don't knot Spurrier if you have to ask that.

Not sure why you are posting that picture. It has been explained that the ball only has to touch the last link in the chain, not the actual pole itself

That's a 1st down from that angle too, it just has to be at the last link, which it is.

Spurrier did comment after the game that last night's ball placement on that crucial call was closer than the gift the refs gave michigan that game in your other pic.

I don't think it's a stupid question: it's a valid hypothetical - say Spurrier winning over UGA in '66 and winning the SEC results in his never being a HC in CFB. It'd erase all those years of humiliating losses and wisecracks at the HBC's expense all these years afterwards. Who knows how many more SEC titles - or beyond - UGA might have won?

Actualy... I could see Spurrier doing that.

Nice pic of a ball that was a terrible spot to begin with. Zoom the pic out and you can see they have the stick leaning away from the ball as well.
