Was this the same officiating crew that did the Vanderbilt game last year?

Because, Oy vay, they cheated like Mishuggina. I am surprised they didn't just start throwing out players like they threw out Gurley's TD run on a bogus holding call.

These officials decided the game.

On that final failed qb sneak the ball was short of the yardstick, yet they just decided to give South Carolina the first down.

There was 1 play when a South Carolina receiver trapped the ball for a 15 yard gain. They gave him the pass yardage plus a penalty for a late hit.

Those officials don't understand the grounding rule either. Mason had a receiver in the area when he was called for intentional grounding.

Oh well. Different year, same chozerai. The dawgs have an excellent offense. 35 points (and it should have been 41) should be enough to win a game. The defense still totally sucks.

SERENITY NOW!

BTW, Gurley put forth a great effort and deserved to win. Towns and Blazevich had outstanding catches.

Blazevich one handed catch in the first half was nice. Surprised the heck out of me. I'll go to my grave saying that Thompson was short of that first down but we gotta get Morgans confidence back. We need him to make those can't miss two field goals. The second one was bad

Disagree

They got an inch on the sneak. Mason pass looked like grounding to me. He didnt even throw beyond the LOS and the closest receiver was at least 5 yards away. They gave UGA yards on personal foul calls. The Gurley headbutt specifically was called wrong and helped Georgia a lot, so that was even from my view.

I do agree with you that 35 should be enough and the D was bad.

Edit: there was holding on the called back TD run. I doubt the held player tackles Gurley, but he was held.

I think the holding call was bs. I do agree that the USC wr did trap the ball on that one play, but it didnt matter w/ the late hit, which was an easy call to make.

The refs did screw us, but that happens every game. But they really like fricking w/ UGA

So the refs pushed their receivers into open spots all night? They must have blew really hard to make Morgans kicks miss too.

The refs didn't lose this game for us. Our defense should not have been putting us in positions where the refs had to decide if one inch would end the game.

They called it on 54, 54 did not hold on that particular play.

The i g on Mason should've been an incomplete pass. The ball actually hit a defender in the thigh pad as it was directed at the receiver.

Gurley's non-call headbutt when he got stuffed on 3rd down and SCAR received a 15 yard penalty was a big call.

Should of least been offsetting

Let's be honest here. The guy freaked out and tossed it in the dirt.

He was trying to imitate what he's seen Tom Brady and Drew Brees do but didn't have any legs to throw it to

Yep. That was intentional grounding. The list of excuses for the loss will be endless, but the simple fact is our defense failed from the first play to the last first down.
The only bright spot is that our defense will likely improve each week and if we do make it to the SECCG it will probably be very good.
But I think Mizzou might have the best shot to win the East.

The loss was definitely on the defense and the playcalling of the last offensive series. We had every chance to win.

The 4th down spot coulda gone the other way but it was so hard to tell, and they always just give it to the offense if it is close and they only needed inches.

I actually disagreed with the grounding call. If it didn't hit their defender in the leg that ball would have ended up really close to our back out on that play. It was the same situation as the screen pass that doesn't fool anyone and they throw it at their feet. But he never should have been in that situation.

The holding call on the 2nd quarter Gurley TD hurt. i really didn't think it was holding. If that was holding they should have called it on about 80% of the snaps. Not sure why they decided to call it there and not at other moments. But we had every chance to win that game regardless, didn't do it.

The secondary just is not very talented. Not sure any of those guys would start on other SEC teams. I'm hoping they continue to improve but there just isn't much talent to work with. We need that front 7 to provide constant pressure for them and last night they couldn't so the secondary got exposed. That will be our biggest issue all season.

Quavon hicks was within 1 yard of the pass. It was thrown about 1 yard behind him.

It was not intentional grounding according to the rule.

I agree with all of your post except this....there was less holding on that play than half a dozen others when their oline was picking up our blitzes.

We have got to get nastier and meaner... USC out physicaled us at almost all levels.... We get better talent and loose 4 of the last 5.... Coaching? It had to be something... No more Kool Aide for me....

The last spot, the ref placed his foot on the USC side of the 50 and then placed the ball on the other side. I am not sure how that will be not protested. I have never seen anything like that in such a critical time.

The PI call on our 1st INT was a call that could be made, but USC clearly pushed off on their 1st TD. It seems like they were letting them play until that int. That call was enormous in momentum change.

The TD call back on the hold I really didnt see holding, but that was another call they made that was a huge momentum change. In the mean time, USC had plenty of holds that could have been called on them and were not. The lack of effective pass rush was the epicenter of our issues on defense.

Even though the refs made huge calls on 3 plays that could have gone the other way, UGA was still in a spot to win and did not and that is the most disappointing part....
