Dbs and LBs both had good days coverage wise. The coverage got muchhh better as the game progressed.

Agreed and I would add we played a full 4 quarters of football today and did so while on the road which is a big plus in my book.

On the offensive side from what little we tried in the passing game we still seemed out of sync. With the running game being so dominant it didn't matter today but that worries me down the road.

I was really impressed with Brooks Ellis and the rest of the LB'ers. They are showing a lot of improvement. They aren't great or anything, but they are improving.

Hell, the entire D looked better.

We finished strong and, with only a few exceptions, stuck to what was working on offense.

We had way more PBUs than I think I've seen in any single one of our games in years. That opening series by Mitchel was great to see. It's a shame his efforts were erased by the offensive punt recovery.

The biggest problem I saw was missed tackles. I know their skill players are very good and shifty, but that's true for every other team we're going to play this year.

Bielema reigned Chaney in.

Didn't try any tricky bullshite when it bit us in the arse again. Just said we're here to win, we'll do what we do best and we'll do what it takes to win.

I'm still amazed that our QB and WR still don't seem to be in sync, I think when and if those groups get on the same page and play effectively we'll be a real tough out for the big boys that think they'll steamroll us.

Through 3 games our top two tacklers are both LB's. Alan Turner is 3rd. I think that says a lot about how much we've improved because I'm pretty sure Turner was our leading tackler last year. Ellis has been more "visible" for some reason, but Spaight is having a great season so far leading us in tackles. He's had some huge hits, but I've been under appreciating his all around play.

Yep, it shows that we're stopping the run within 4 yards of the LOS, the LB's are more involved in coverage, as in they are making plays instead of being out of position or getting burned.

I love Alan Turner's heart and commitment to the team but he's a backup at best at any other SEC team.

Hell, Brooks Ellis should have had 2-3 interceptions yesterday but he was born with skillets for hands.

O-line. I can't recall a game that an O-line was that dominating since the Nebraska teams of the 90's. They knew we were gonna run, the coaches knew it and they couldn't stop it. That is total physical domination. Against a decent team.

I liked a lot of what I saw yesterday on offense. The difference in qb play from last year to this year is night and day. BA showed the poise and confidence of a leader yesterday. If our receivers could be more consistent we could have a dependable passing game. The running game and ol speaks for itself.

Defensively I was very pleased with the coverage by our lbs and dbs. I wish tackling would have been a little better, but I think that will come over time. Dl play was solid it would have been nice if some of the qb hurries would have resulted in sacks.

Overall I was pleased with the performance, and I am very encouraged about the future of the program.

This.

I'm not a Chaney basher, but the way we conducted our offense was pretty evident that Bert had him by the balls in the second half, which was a good thing. We weren't going to get cute or try anything.

Not to kiss Bert's arse, but that's good coaching to not outsmart yourself and just keep doing what works. Play action was there for the taking in the second half, but there was absolutely no need for it because we were destroying them on the lines and at the point of contact.

Allen keeping his head about him and making good decisions. Loved the play when he scored, play was covered had pressure but kept his eyes downfield faked out the safety and walks in.

That we showed hunger and and the desire to beat the living heck out of anything that stepped on the field Saturday was the biggest improvement I saw. I am hoping the taste of blood they got the past two games will give them a hunger for more.
