I'm still scared of Sc and Ug's RBs. But both their secondaries look good for us.
UF is an away game.
UK will play hard here.
I feel ok about UT and Vandy.
So, somewhere between 5th and 1st in the East.

If we don't lose we'll win. How's that for being profound?

That's kinda what I'm thinking too.
Still can't get a handle on any of it.

More seriously, I'm more afraid of a passing game. I actually think we've done fairly good against the run. Think we held UCF to under 100 as a team today. Granted, it's SDSU, but their team was built around a solid RB and for the most part we shut him down. UGA and SC have great RB's no doubt, but I think I'd rather face a team with great RB's than a great QB and WR's. We just have to stop giving up first downs on 3 and 15. Had flashbacks to the SC game last year.
Yep, the LB's have to improve, but I think we're starting to see a bit better play. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed I saw them filling more gaps. Making more tackles at the line of scrimmage or beyond. Could be a wrong impression, but that's the impression I had after today.

Mizzou radio guys agreed.

LB's did play better.
We are better against the run than the pass.
DB's look bad.
I like our chances against GA more than SC.

We still have A&M as well which isn't the easiest game this year

And don't forget Arkansas.
I share your concern over teams with big backs, especially those hell-bent on running it as Arkansas is. Bert's offense has hit it's stride and they've got a chance to take out anyone on their schedule.
And I completely agree about sc and UG's secondaries being hot garbage.
I'd rank our opponents from toughest to weakest as...
Texas A&M
Georgia
South Carolina
Florida
Arkansas
Kentucky
Tennessee
Indiana
Vanderbilt
Based on what I've seen so far, I think 6-2 or 5-3 can win the East and no team will go 8-0 in the West.

I was nervous about this defense for this year until the fourth quarter of the UCF game. It was like a different set of players and DC came out. It's what an SEC defense should look like, big, strong dominating and shuts down good offenses. They did that. They were smacking UCF's QB around pretty bad. That QB is going to need some ice and some mental help after that game. An what's with this press coverage all of a sudden? They actually looked like a legit defense in the fourth quarter. The first three though, meh.
It's things like this that make me believe we haven't seen the "real Mizzou" yet. At least that's my hopes.
The offense? Ebbs and flows on Mauks performance. Kind of scary. I like Mauk, but he still has happy feet when he doesn't need them. I just don't think he see's the field well. He missed a jumping wide open Culkin who was jumping and dancing right in front of him. I think a lot of it is he is looking down field too often. They also don't do well to set up their plays. It keeps defenses off balance if you can do that. Last year, they did this pretty well. This year it doesn't seem to be there. But I will admit, they are missing DGB down the middle. Mauk has a nice touch on deep balls and if he gets his timing down with his recievers, look out.
If this fourth quarter team shows up in the first half of the rest of their games, I don't think there is anyone in the East that will beat them. That's the big "if" in my mind. That 4th quarter defense yesterday was impressive.

It's USC, UGA and Mizzou'z to lose..
while we haven't lost an SEC game this season, we have yet to win one. Well at least we don't have to wait long to find out.
