I still ain't buying the last first down USC made....it is way past time for football to move into the modern era and use a laser to determine first downs...dam a chain link.....

Yeah, Gary Danielson was right by definition but was wrong on the first down call. To my knowledge, the end of the last chain is the first down marker. If you freeze frame that measurement, there was a small gap. But it it is what is and you can’t change it.

Tough to tell, but watching the measurement live I was sure that it was short. That's about as close as it gets in football.

Why do they release stories like this? It's not like we can go back and say HEY frick YOU! LET'S REPLAY THAT LAST 1:30 OF THE 4th QUARTER! What's done is done. Just don't even mention it.

Not bitching about the chain ruling but I am still not sure they got it right.
I was more curious about the spot. It looked like the official from across the field had a different spot when he first approached and marked his foot.
Shouldn't have mattered.
