TT took AU to new heights. Ole Miss wouldn't be where we are today w/o his leadership. He got the expansion and got rid of stars and bars. He moved us forward for recruiting purposes light years. He is doing a good job at Cincy. I root for the man.

I'm cool with him. Dude took a team with 55 scholarship players to a bowl game.

They will have to carry me outta here in a pine box, lol. Yeah good ol Tommy.

Not sure if that is worse than what he did to the recruits at TT though.

Yeah, he is a character for sure. Reminds me alot of Billy Brewer. There's a dude who got us put on probation twice. Most Rebels love him. Why most Rebels don't know that coaching is a business and that coaches have to say things until the ink is dry. See Nick Saban comments with Miami...

ETA: I would not take him back but I do appreciate his game.

It's not the pine box comment that offends me, it's the exit from Texas Tech. He just has a knack for burning bridges.

I love Tubs, appreciate what he did for our program, and understand coaches are just hired guns. But going behind our back to take a job against a divisional rival was sleazy at best.

I honestly don't care anymore. That was 15 years ago.

I don't have any ill will towards him for leaving.. He got here and started asking for things to be successful. We didn't provide them (bigger budget, better practice facilities, etc.) Auburn did, so he went where he had the best chance to build his program and brand of football. Don't blame him for leaving, blame to administration at the time for being difficult to deal with. He opened our eyes as a fan base and finally made us realize we might have to invest in nice facilities and recruiting if we wanted to compete.

I guess Cincinnati has better grocery stores than Lubbock.

Overall, he is a sleaze bag, but he did a good job for us. Worked a miracle w/ very limited scholarships and then we didn't support him. He's probably our second most important coach in the modern era behind Freeze. We could have been buried back in the late nineties, but he pulled us back up and gave us the opportunity to hire Cut and allow Cut to maintain.

Lot of fun years with Tubs. He gave us Deuce and Romaro. He gave us the Corey Peterson clutch catches against LSU and State. I still root for him.

I've always pulled for Tubberville except when he played OM and Georgia
