Gus Malzahn Won’t Sign Autographs For Booster Club
Could it be that Nick Saban isn’t the only coach in Alabama who thinks a little too highly of himself?
Auburn’s Gus Malzahn was scheduled to be the featured speaker at the Montgomery Quarterback Club’s meeting Tuesday afternoon. In a last-minute change, guests who paid the $30 to attend the event barred from asking for autographs and photos.
Media members were also told they could not be in the room at all once Malzahn’s speech began. Press access at both Alabama and Auburn is extremely restrictive.
The Auburn press corp can take some solace. At least Malzahn doesn’t yell at them like his counterpart in Tuscaloosa is known for doing.

This is SOP for most programs. Maybe CBB should take note so that some of the embarrassing stuff that comes out of his mouth won't get out for public consumption.

This is a booster club event. This is how it should be. No one would have ever heard Les Miles' chest comments about Gunner Kiel if the a kid from the student newspaper hadn't broken the rules of the event and recorded Miles' speech.
Coaches are a little looser at those events and should be able to be without having every word scrutinized.

Who would want the press there? They're not your friend and negative stories get more hits.
