Stan Sandroni passed away from a massive heart attack last night. He patrolled the sidelines for the radio broadcasts for as long as I can remember and was on his 21st season of hosting Rebel Yell Hotline.
Was a former boss of mine and a great guy. Terrible to lose two long-time Mississippi radio icons in the same week.
ETA: Sidenote on Stan Sandroni...He gave Hoda from the Today Show her first job.

Heartbroken. First boss -- the man who hired me after 27 news directors said no-- passed away. Rip Stan Sandroni.

That's what I'm afraid of. I lost a coworker of mine 3 months ago unexpectedly.

You could hear the pain in Kellum's voice on Head to Head this afternoon.
Apparently Stan left behind a 15 year old son.

Everything seems to come in 2's or 3's. RIP Stan

Head to Head announced that there will be a 'silent mike' on the sidelines for the ULL game in honor of Stan. I'll be at that game, and I'm sure there will also be a moment of silence before the game and maybe something on the Jumbotron.
