OK radio has been a riot this week making fun of UT and how bad we are. They were also ragging on the SEC shoving Tebow down their throat as the greatest of all time. Hell most people outside of Florida fans were sick of hearing about him.
One cool thing was they had the Utah State coach on the radio today and he did nothing but praise UT and the team. He talked about how the crowd got louder and louder as the game went on.

May 2013: While speaking at a “Sooner Caravan” fan gathering, Stoops calls the media perception of the SEC’s dominance in college football “propaganda”.
“So they’ve had the best team in college football,” Stoops said at a “Sooner Caravan” Sooner fan gathering. “They haven’t had the whole conference. Because, again, half of ‘em haven’t done much at all. I’m just asking you. You tell me …
“So you’re listening to a lot of propaganda that gets fed out to you,” Stoops continued. “You can look at the top two, three, four, five, six teams, and you can look at the bottom six, seven, eight, whatever they are. How well are they all doing?”
Stoops has defended his comments several times and even added more soundbites furthering his feelings about the SEC’s media perception. However, these comments are the roots to his reputation as Mr. Anti-SEC, a role he has embraced in the past.
Until now.
With Tennessee on the horizon, Stoops is trying to downplay what many consider a rivalry with the SEC, laughing off the matter completely.
Stoops chuckles when asked about being the rival of an entire conference. #Sooners

Stoops on SEC: That’s been overblown. We don’t need to go there again. Let’s talk about the players and the teams. #Sooners — Eric Bailey (@EricBaileyTW) September 8, 2014
Stoops will attempt to go against his previous comments before Saturday’s matchup in order to properly talk up Tennessee as an opponent. In college football, every team builds up its competition to make each win seem more monumental. But for Stoops, a win against the SEC will always be noteworthy.
Stoops is 5-5 against the SEC since taking over as Oklahoma’s head coach in 1999. It would be validation for Stoops to hold a winning record against the SEC and Saturday’s matchup is the perfect opportunity for the heavily favored Sooners. Stoops may try to downplay his angst toward the SEC this week, but that doesn’t mean his players are helping him save face.
“We all know what Stoops thinks about the SEC.” -OU Linebacker Geneo Grissom
— Abigail Ogle (@KOCOAbigail) September 8, 2014
This matchup is extremely important for both teams. For Stoops, he can put another notch in his Anti-SEC belt with a win against a historically dominant, albeit downtrodden program. For Tennessee, they would not only shock the world, but also silence the biggest SEC naysayer in college football.

The more I read about Oklahoma, the more I think we may just have a puncher's chance to hang with this team.
I really think their DBs are going to have a tough time matching up with our WRs. Really, really need Malone, Croom and Smith to step up and make some plays after the catch in Pearson's absence.
OU's front 7 is undersized but fast. I hope Tennessee can establish some semblance of a rushing attack because that undersized front 7 could get tired of having to tackle a 230 pound RB all night.
If and it's a huge if, but if UT's OL can just be average for one damn night, we will have a chance to make some plays down the field.
And we absolutely cannot allow OU to hit on a bunch of big plays. Keep everything in front, bend but don't break. This VOLS defense will be one of the faster ones Oklahoma will face all year.

How green our we? Two starting lineman have never been on an airplane before. This will be the first trip for much of our team.
So yeah the question of whether or not Bob runs the score up if it gets out of hand is a good one. I think he will. However, I think our Defense is being shortchanged by a lot. Our oline is awful but the rest of the team is either average to way above average. The secondary is just special and the LBs are looking great.
