As always, rankings based on past performance, roster talent level, and my own personal eye test.

Week 2

1. Georgia, 1-0
Last Week: Off
Next Week:@ South Carolina
Key Stat: None
BamaDoc14's Take: With an off week, Richt and UGA had time to prepare for USCe, who struggled last week with East Carolina. Nothing in week two convinced me that anyone deserves the top spot over UGA at this point.

2. Auburn, 2-0
Last Week: beat San Joe St. 59-13
Next Week: Off
Key Stat: 358 Rushing Yard. Malzahn had the Tigers offense rolling again this week.
BamaDoc14's Take: The defense had a few suspect plays early, but with the way the offense is playing, it may not matter in the end. Even with Nick Marshall under center, D’Haquille Williams looks to be a legitimate All-American Candidate. Even UGA and Auburn keep up their current pace, The DSOR could be one for the ages.

3. Oregon, 2-0
Last Week: beat Michigan St. 46-27
Next Week: vs. Wyoming
Key Stat: 491 Total Yards of offense for the Ducks against the Spartans gritty defense.
BamaDoc14's Take: Oregon struggled early, but ultimately, they overcame the Spartan defense and ran away with the game. Oregon answered several questions about their ability to play with a defensive pro-style team, although Michigan St. isn’t exactly an SEC caliber defense. With this win, Oregon will most likely be in the first playoff, but it remains to be seen whether their style of play can be successful in the big games.

4. Texas A&M, 2-0
Last Week: beat Lamar 73-3
Next Week: vs. Rice
Key Stat: 3 turnovers. A&M looked every bit as impressive as last week against cupcake Lamar. South Carolina’s performance this week does diminish what they did one the road in week one, but only slightly. Sumlin has the Aggies in great position heading into Week 3.
BamaDoc14's Take:

5. Florida State, 2-0
Last Week: beat Citadel 37-12
Next Week: vs. Clemson
Key Stat: 26:25. The Seminoles struggled with ball control verse this cupcake and rank just 80th in the country in rushing.
BamaDoc14's Take: Florida State has arguably the best roster in the country and this week we will see if they can shake off the rust they shown in their first two games as they host Clemson.

6. Oklahoma, 2-0
Last Week: Beat Tulsa 52-7
Next Week: Tennessee
Key Stat: The Sooners averaged 8.4 yards per play against Tulsa.
BamaDoc14's Take: The Sooners host a Tennessee team that has plenty of young talent. Led by freshmen of the week Jalen Hurd. Whether they will be up to the task of giving the Sooners a run for their money in Norman remains to be seen.

7. LSU, 2-0
Last Week: Beat Sam Houston State 56-0
Next Week: UL Monroe
Key Stat: Travin Dural is averaging an insane 48.5 yards per reception for the 2014 season.
BamaDoc14's Take: LSU with an expected beat down of Sam Houston State and plays UL Monre before they begin their SEC schedule. Freshmen Leonard Fournette had a great game with 13 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown.

8. Alabama, 2-0
Last Week: beat Florida Atlantic 41-0
Next Week: Southern Miss
Key Stat: Blake Sims stat-line as a whole. 12/14 for 228 yards and 2 TD’s.
BamaDoc14's Take: The quarterback controversy appears to be settled for the time being with Sims’ performance this week. Amari Cooper has emerged as the premier wide receiver in a conference as loaded with WR’s as it has been since the days of Jones, Jeffrey, and Green. Eddie Jackson looked great at corner, but with all this in mind, let’s remember that the opponent was Florida Atlantic.

9. Baylor, 2-0
Last Week: beat Northwestern State 70-6
Next Week: @ Buffalo
Key Stat: The Bears rank 4th in the nation in points for, with 57.5 ppg.
BamaDoc14's Take: Baylor also ranks in the top 5 in points given up, having only allowed 3 points on the year. With the teams they’ve played, it remains to be seen whether this team is legit.

10. Ole Miss, 2-0
Last Week: beat Vanderbilt 41-3
Next Week: LA-Lafayette
Key Stat: 7 receptions and 112 yards for tight end Evan Engram.
BamaDoc14's Take: The Rebels had a strong showing in Nashville and move into the top ten with wins over two FBS schools on the road and at a neutral site game. The Rebels host two cupcakes before starting a brutal stretch of playing a top ten team in 4 of the next 5 weeks.
