Saw a post on the recruiting thread about Stansbury, so I have a question for bulldog fans. Hearing how he wasn't always the cleanest recruiter on boards before, Will he be able to recruit the same way at A&M as he did at State? Im sure some alumni had to know how he was doing it and if so will they be mad enough to go to compliance since A&M is in the same conference as us ?

And bring an investigation to Starkville? no thanks.

Yeah I understand that. but now with Newman visiting and just signing two of the best players in the country. I would think it would raise some flags on its own at A&M, I guess Stans is just good at covering his tracks.

As in there was more incentive then just basketball and a scholarship to come to starkville.

If there is something out of the ordinary going on, A&M will have to worry about other Texas schools and not MSU.

Thats true... i just didnt know if it would be any different with malik being from mississippi and his dad being an alumni, if it would make some people bitter. That being if he actually signs with A&M.

It's college basketball. If you assume shenanigans on every single player -- you'll be way closer to the truth. Stans didn't recruit well because of "the game" for the most part -- it was more about how relentlessly he chased guys over long period of times. That's not to say he didn't play the game because he did -- but literally everyone that is successful in college basketball does. When was the last time someone got in trouble over CBB recruiting?
Yes, he's doing the same thing at aTm. He's one of the best assistant coaches in the country IMO. His skillset translates perfectly to being a top assistant. Match him with a disciplinarian/x's and o's HC and the sky is the limit(I have no idea if aTm has this or not).
The only reason for concern about Malik visiting there is because, as of now, aTm is still an Adidas school. Malik's "deal" with Adidas is already done for all intents and purposes -- "unofficially" of course. Things still look really, really good for us and him.

Stans knows how to play the game. Always have plausible deniability.
Of course we cheated our arse off. You don't think inner city basketball kids want to actually come to Starkvegas do you.
Gary Ervin had a brand new Lincoln Navigator on 34's our freshman year. How do you suppose that happened?

Ha dude was a turnover machine.
Gary Ervins boy Billy Begley played about 12 years at State it seems like. The man was a fixture at Ricks.
