Mark Richt is 24-9 (73%) off bye weeks in 13 years at Georgia...

5 of those losses are bowl games...and
FL-2009
Tech-2008
AU-2005
AU-2001

However..that is essentially his record against all teams with or without bye..so useless stat.

A week ago, I would have said the bye was an advantage. However, having USCjr get some confidence back, Davis get some game reps, and Georgia with two weeks of hearing how great they are have me wavering.

What say you?

I only saw about 2 days of the national media doing that. None of the local media or the coaches or the team from the interviews I have heard have have an over-inflated opinion of the team.

I think we come out of the gate flatter than the beer at a GOP fund raiser....and will need a couple of possessions at least to get in gear. This is why I think we win this game by less than a TD because we get behind early and play catch up all day....

UGA will come out with a statement aginst the cocks. After watching the success AtM had against SCAR, and how ECU gave them all they wanted, you'd have to think the Dawgs are lickin' their chops to get to this game. Yes, we run a different offense than AtM, but one that I also believe is a more potent and dangerous offense. Look at a couple of things:

AtM runs a fast paced, yet one dimensional offense. It is predicated on the pass and only incorporates the run as a secondary option. UGA, on the other hand, is a much more balanced offensive system, and after watching the Clemson game again, I was very impressed with Mason. He put the ball where he needed to to win, and had it not been for a couple of p.i. calls against clemson, he would have passed fora couple of touchdowns. In a nutshell, I was completely impressed with Mason and think we are in great hands this season. No mistakes on his part to speak of.

UGA is in better shape. Who would have ever thunk it? Look at the games though, SCAR, well, I don't know if they are in as good of shape as Clemson. Mike Davis, while a genuine threat, looks to be heavy and out of shape and doesn't have that quick second level burst that we are used to seeing from the SCAR backs. Their lines look slow, but especially so as the game wears on in the third qtr. UGA should be able to name the score as far as offensive points. Let's not forget, If Richt wasn't the person he is, we could have scored 70 on Clemson.

The Pruitt factor. Simply put, UGA's defense is better than SCAR's. Throw the records out, this is a new day and it's bright for the Dawg Nation boys!

UGA scores 45-60 points and holds SCAR to less than 24. I will post a more in depth preview in a day or two! Go Dawgs!

I think it is. It's never a bad thing to have 2 weeks to prep for a big game.

did they though? They won, but they looked pretty bad against a pretty pedestrian team. They still have some HUGE issues.

Davis get some game reps

So? He's good, but he's not anything to shake in our boots over. He's overweight and after not playing week 1, I'd imagine he still is a tad behind, conditioning-wise.

Nah, that was more like the first 4 or 5 days. I assure you pruitt and richt are keeping their minds right.

Why did you only look at the losses, but not the 24 wins? How many of those 24 wins were against big time opponents in a big game, that was potentially helped by us having a bye week?

Holy cow FW, I like your optimism. But, I just don't see the Dawgs scoring that many points. I think UGA is the better team, but for some reason, they usually struggle at Columbia

It is absolutely an advantage.

Also, not directed at the OP, can we get over the whole "we always struggle in Columbia" crap? UGA struggled in those individual games. Those games have no bearing on this one.

Not what I think. Full contact practice. Wouldn't go full contact on Monday unless he was getting ready to play.

What about if he's healthy but he's suspended?

I dont care if the Dawgs had 4 weeks off and the cocks had lost all their games by 50. Its still a Spurrier coached team and that always makes me nervous.

CMR said he was hurt. I don't believe he would say that if he was suspended, but I could be wrong. Might be wishful thinking on my part. Still wishing.

I'm a NegaDawg.....but I'm deep in the Kool-aid. We win by at least two TDs.

He said "he'll play when I think he's ready to play", not necessarily that he's hurt. He's practicing in red full go now, so if he doesnt' play against SC, don't expect to see him til vandy.

We're all wishing. I hope he plays. I just don't think he will.

The Dawgs 1-3 the past 4 seasons vs Old Ball Sack. Thats about as "in the now" as it gets.

Spurrier is 4-5 vs. UGA while at South Carolina. 1-5 vs. UGA when Marcus Lattimore isn't on his team.

Dawgs win 31-24
