Very few redshirts?

Gates has played, as did the Moore's and Pack.
Can't understand why these players didn't redshirt. We don't need them this year. Webster and Hampton are needed for second team play.
Penn State was built on the backs of redshirts. We need to do the same and burning a redshirt needs to be rare. Look at Kailo Moore.

We need these guys to play. If you feel you have a shot to go deep you can bet your last dollar you are going to have to have depth.
Garrald McDowell isn't playing because we are deep on the DL. Same for Breland Speaks.
DK Buford, Jordan Sims, Dayall Harris, Akeem Judd, Sammie Epps, Victor Evans, Sean Rawlings.
There are some 4 star guys in there who in the past would have played because they had to. Freeze is building the program the right way.

We are still a class away from having a dozen + redshirts... And that's fine... I love the decision to RS Judd... Sets up our backfield for 2016...

I'll trust our coaches, who have seen these guys practice and work out day-in and day-out over the past several months.
We're thin at linebacker, so it makes sense that Gates has seen time. Don't forget, we had to play Taylor fricking Polk for several minutes against boise State, so that position needs serious help. (This is not a knock on Polk, who is a great player. He's just way too small to play legit SEC football right now.)
A.J. Moore is playing because Chief Brown got hurt. He's literally in the two-deep at huskie. C.J. Moore is too athletic to not have on the field, even if in special teams.
Markell Pack is returning punts (better than Korvic Neat, might I add) which isn't exactly something to turn your nose up at.
So, yeah, your opinion sucks shite.

How you use to do it is how you USE to do it. If you can use the kid and he makes your team better, use him. You cant RS everyone or you will end up having every class being 15 commits. A good program can RS kids like Speaks, McDowell, and Evans because we have built depth there. LB's and Safeties will rarely get RS'd if they are good enough because you need those guys on ST. If you recruit like a SEC team should then redshirting is not a big deal.If we cant use a kid, RS. If we can and he makes our team better, play him.

We burned Attaboyjoe last year on a few catches against scrub teams. A waste. Pack will catch even fewer than Atta.
The decision on Gates is as puzzling as Pack. Polk played b/c Freeze made the numbnut decision to sit the elder Nkem. Bad decision.

Attaboy played last year because everyone knew we would be thin this year. He isn't running around not knowing what the heck to do. He has played in big games.
Denzel was suspended for disciplinary reasons. It was the right thing to do. He isn't bigger than the team. The move gave him a piece of humble pie.
