Bama fans, what are your thoughts on Sims and Coker now after week 2?

I think Sims looks more comfortable and in control. Coker showed some good arm strength and scramble, but looked confused and frustrated at times.

I will be honest Coker even not having a lot of time at Bama still doesn't look as good as the hype he was given. Do you think Sims has earned the job outright?

Curious how you are seeing it.

Bama 2014 = Tennessee 1998

Blake Sims = Tee Martin

I believe Blake Sims is the man.

Sims has definitely looked better than Coker.

Pretty much. It's a no-brainer at this point. Sims hasn't appeared shaky, Kiffin is calling the right plays for him, and he has surprisingly great pocket presence and awareness in addition to his mobility. He won the job over Coker to start the season and Coker's limited PT has done nothing to indicate that was a bad decision. Sims is better than Coker.

Blakesiah will be one of the most dangerous QBs in the country when it's all said and done this season.

Jimbo saw a way to free up a scholly and took full advantage of it.

I think Sims is the guy, and I hope Saban goes ahead and announces it this week: I think he should have another preparation week as the full time starter before going up against Florida,

Offense just appeared more crisp with Sims in there

I think we have a competent QB in Sims and we will develop Coker, bring him along.

Different skill sets and different problems for a defense. Coker just needs to play I think, shake off the rust and log some game time. Sims is getting better too, gaining confidence and for the most part playing pretty well.

What one of them does not do well, I think the other one does, We should be OK at QB.

I also think we will do the 2 QB system this year. Start to crowd the line on Sims and here comes Coker to throw the vertical routes.

And we can always line up and run it.

Thoughts? I'm thinking that I'm tired of this question after each game.

I think everybody in here will have a different view after the UF game. Count on it.

Feel free to bypass the thread and click on the many others available to you. Your team doesn't have a proclaimed number 1. It is news relevant to the current football season. Sorry I didn't do a flame/troll thread.

I think your assessment is pretty spot on.

WTF? Sims has started both games. He's listed #1 on the depth chart. I'll upload you a picture of yesterday's gameday program if you like.

“I still don’t hesitate to say that there’s a quarterback competition,” Saban said. “And in some way, we’ll probably try to play both quarterbacks in this game. I don’t know how.

Can you provide a quote where Saban has said Sims is the man. Even some of your own fans have said the same in here. Why are you struggling with this?

Blake Sims is Black Driskel- great accuracy, high completion %, really athletic, good runner, but no real touch on the deep ball.

Saban's Q-and-A's aren't a wealth of information. He's flippant and defiant to questions 99% of the time, reverts everything back to the process and his particular coachspeak, and he's never going to call a presser to announce Sims is our guy. Just like he never did during the AJ-Phillip Sims "battle". AJ just naturally became the starter because he was better.
