Mike Slive, BYU doesn't count as a Power 5 OOC, but 14 teams in the BIG10 do?

BYU should suck it up and join a Power 5 conference if they want to remain relevant.

Stupid decision by Slive. I really enjoyed interacting with the BYU fans when they were in Oxford. One of their former players, Ben Criddle, hung out at our tent then went out to the square with us. Really cool guy.

I wouldn't mind making a trip out there.

Yes. The whole "Power 5" thing reeks of elitism and would ding the popularity of college athletics, long-term.

If a Division IV comes about, I really do hope the have-not's make a complete break and play completely different schedules in all sports. No blood donor games, no March Madness, no nothing.

Folks bitch about going to the same bowl game too often. Try playing the same Purdue and Iowa State dregs as a Power 5 OOC over and over. BYU would be a nice change.
