Texas Tech: 2-0 (7 point win over Central Arkansas, 4 point win @ UTEP)
365 passing yards per game.
36 points for per game.
30.5 points against per game.

Texas Tech QB: 6'5" sophomore Davis Webb; 2nd year starter, 3 star out of high school.

Tech allowed 277 yards rushing against UTEP, but only 116 yards passing (UTEP is a run oriented team).

Arkansas: 1-1 (24 point loss @ AU, 66 point win over Nicholls State)
324 rushing yards per game
47 points per game
26 points against per game

AU QB Jeremy Johnson went 12/16 for 243 yards, 2 TD, 0 Int against Arkansas. AU's offense with Johnson is the most similar offense to Tech that Arkansas has faced this season.

Looking back at Texas Tech's recent home games, the most comparable one I saw to the one they will have against Arkansas was when they played KSU last fall in Lubbock. KSU ran for 291 yards, caused 3 turnovers, and won 49-26 despite giving up 354 passing yards. This will be the blueprint for an Arkansas win.

Arkansas needs to pound the inside run and be ready to jump the passing routes as Texas Tech likes to force the issue with their pass just as much as Arkansas should be trying to force the issue with the run game. I'm not confident in Arkansas' secondary to create turnovers at this point, so I do think it will be a long day for our defense, just how it will be a long day for Tech's defense against our run.

In the end, I think Tech's homefield and strength in their passing game against our weakness in our pass defense will win the game.

Predicted line: Tech -2.5
Predicted final score: 34-38, Tech wins

Tech is not a good team. They've played poorly against bad competition. I expect Arkansas to win by 17.

I thought tech was going to be better this year. 42-24 hogs win, possibly bigger if we score early and they get demoralized.

If this game were in Fayetteville I'd agree with yall in confidently choosing Arkansas to win. But Arkansas has not been good on the road and Lubbock is crazy. I really hope our secondary steps up and makes some plays, and if they do we win. But I don't see how anyone can be confident in our secondary until we actually see them do that.

Texas Tech is awful. Arky should run all over them.

Tech is arse, but that's to be expected when your coach cares more about swag than actually coaching. Kingsbury is in way over his head right now.

Line prediction: Arkansas -4
Score prediction: Ark 38, Tech 28

After watching Tech last night Arky should win by two scores. 41-27

Tech is bad but our safeties and linebackers are crap in coverage so with that said:

34-31 Ark

Back and forth game but penalties are the difference and Arkansas wins it in the end.

Tech around 350 yards passing
Ark around 275 yards rushing

If we don't have at least 300 yards rushing I will be disappointed.

I am guessing many didn't see utep run all up and down the field on Tech. The hogs will score as many as they want on the ground. Tech won't stop them.

I think the line will end up being Tech -5/-6.

Each team's strengths play into the other team's weaknesses. Could be a battle of attrition and mistakes.

Texas Tech is probably the only team in America that makes more mistakes and is worse coached than the Hogs. Kingsbury has a shite show for a staff, but if they outcoach Arkansas I'll be ready to start admitting that Bielema may not have been a good hire.

Our line should be able to impose our will, but we're going to have to rotate the big guys often if we hope to sustain long clock eating drives that pound it down Tech's throats.

Arkansas 38 Texas Tech 26

If Bielema's staff gets outsmarted though,
Texas Tech 52 Arkansas 20

Texas Tech home advantage only exists at night not during the day

Their run defense has been terrible

That's a bit of an overstatement. They average more than double the number of penalties per game than Arkansas.

I watched it.

Marquez and Webb will have career days against our secondary.

We will have to slow the tempo down making it a close game.
