We've had this dogma that Bama just won't play black QB's and we've lost a couple recruits because of this. Will it end since apparently Sims is our guy and he beat out several white QB's?

No it will not stop.

Despite having possibly the best statistical outing for a QB in shool history, the controversy continues.

The radio waves have been all abuzz about why did coker not play more? Callers and posters are still not convinced that sims can be the guy to lead your team to a championship.

Your coach said sims is still not "the man". Your coach said there is still an ongoing competition at the QB spot.

As usual, your teams fans cant stomach the thought of an African American QB. It stops when the controversy stops.

Get on out of here Auburn boy. Shew! Shew!

Saban just wants Coker to keep his head up for 2015. Sims is the man and until he proves otherwise, there is no reason to think differently. I love his added dimension of being a legit running threat. This years offense is gonna be fun.

Come at me trolls, I know you are waiting in the wings.

I don't think people believe the Saban has a problem with black QBs.

I think people believe that the Alabama fan base does. LSU has a segment of their fan base that certainly has an issue with it. They tear down a player like JR and diminish his insane accomplishments while at LSU (Saban recruit).

A certain segment of the fan base wants Coker. IF Coker had started last week with similar results to Sims, he would be in the Heisman discussion.

That is fine and all, but I am gonna need some evidence. This is 2014 not 1954. I personally have black friends that lacked confidence in Blake. It had nothing to do with his skin color. It never did. Even opposing fan bases on the Rant doubted him. He was solid Saturday. He was confident and has an added dimension Alabama hasn't had at QB in a long time. I believe he will progress and finish 2014 as the starting QB.

You are going to need evidence that people believe that the Alabama fan base has a problem with a black QB?

How would you like me to do that? Can I point back to this thread?

And? How does that dispute this statement?

You don't think those people that criticize Bama for it are going to come from rivals?

I'm an LSU fan, and I know that there are many LSU fans that would prefer a white QB. You are delusional if you don't think that exists in the Alabama fan base too.

Honestly, I think the overwhelming majority of both fanbases just care about winning, regardless of the race of the QB.

I don't disagree with that at all.

The overwhelming majority of people aren't ignorant assholes.

I'm just saying, only people looking to make this an issue would just take issue with some other EGREGIOUSLY AWFUL ZOMG DISCRIMINATION that's allegedly happening in BR or T-town in their jaded eyes.

Hell, folks in Texas used to give Aggies shite for not hiring a black coach. When we did, they moved on to some other shite. Trying to keep up with the superfluous complaints is a losing battle at the end of the day.

Let the HC decide who's best to help his team win, then go cheer for whomever he chooses.

Yes, I know I'm preaching to the choir

No you are 100% right. And, in this day and age, racial issues seem to stem more from people who want to stir the pot and less with the accused.

I have been logged too long to get involved with a thread like this.

Take care peeps.

The operative words are 'think' and 'believe.' Meaning you're just talking outta your arse and really know very little about what you 'think' you know.

Insecurity will do that, ya know?
