Not sure how many of you are on BOL, but this used to be one of my favorite pieces by Chris Walsh. Sorry if Germans, but I searched.

A few I found interesting:
Pretty impressive that we got this during a qb battle. I know WVU defense is horrible, but still good that we got this during a qb battle.
tDecline? but seriously Sylve

A few I found interesting:

1. Explosive plays: Nick Saban defines an explosive play a run of 13 yards or more or a pass of 17 yards or more. Alabama’s goal is nine per game. Led by Yeldon and Henry with three each the Crimson Tide had 12, seven on the ground and five in the air. The season high in 2013 was 13.

Also of note, the Crimson Tide yielded 300 passing yards in consecutive games for the first time under Saban.

Offense is gonna be humming under Kiffin. I truly believe that if we figure QB out, we can average just over 500 yards a game with our schedule.
And I'm just glad Eddie Jackson is taking his spot. Plus Trey is back. And A'Shawn will be further removed from his camp injury.

If we go throughout the averaging 580 yards a game, would that make this offense the best under Saban?

Kiffin would be the GOAT. And the offseason would be glorious for bama fans on tSECr.

How do we know this?
We know that their defense last season was horrible due to the fact they had multiple starters out with season ending injuries. Lets see how bad their defense is come week 5-6 and we might just feel better or worse about our performance.

They would have to be a LOT better than last year not to be terrible. They won't be ranked in the top half of defenses nationally.
That doesn't mean our offense can't be good. But, averaging over 500 yards per game is a bit unrealistic.

I don't think we do. But we can. And there is no good reason why we don't. We have just as much offensive fire power as anyone.

I think it will depend more on if our defense can get enough stops to keep feeding the offense. Against most teams on our schedule they should be able to.

I am too. But I fear, coming off the knee injury, he's not going to be playing at the same level we saw him perform in last year's Ole Miss game.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but that guy gave up ~100 yards in the first 2 drives alone.
Some on here have argued that "at least he was in good position; he just didn't get his eyes on the ball" (paraphrasing). BUT HE WASN'T. Completely fell down 5 yards away from White on one play. Then gave him about a 7 yard cushion for any easy 12 yard curl, plus about 10 more yards-after-catch due to the giant cushion.

Chill guys. We put almost 600 total yards. We had multiple players make big plays. A TF LT didn't give up a sack. Penalties were minimal. Special teams was a weapon, not a liability with the exception of the ko return.
Sylve will be fine or Sylve will be a spectator; it's that simple. He wasn't really out of position, he just needs to find the ball which is correctable. Defense gave up ONE touchdown. ONE. Defense yielded 1.2 yds per carry against a bunch that included a RB all of us were drooling over a few years ago.
We will be fine people.

you're right. but it was his first game running with the first team defense. He absolutely struggled. But it doesnt mean he is the devil or that he wont play better next time he gets in the game. plus, we've got lots of other guys to play in that spot and most importantly, we won the game. No need to pile on Bradley Sylve anymore than we already have.

Well you're good at getting everyone to calm down. I can't calm down over the A&M game in October. Is there anything that can be said that can calm me down on that?

Agree with most of that.
We had 7 penalties.

A&ms defense is just as bad as wv, and their offense is not that much better.

Hit of the game: Junior safety Landon Collins delivered a bone-crusher in the third quarter on third-and-5 at the end of a dropped pass. It was the second time he laid out Jordan Thompson, who also made the mistake of fielding freshman JK Scott’s 62-yard punt.
Gotta disagree with Walsh on this one. My hit of the game was Coop's block that took out two Mountaineers.

I think the reasons that some of us may be hypercritical of the offense is because AJ's not the QB and Blake's miscues were kind of glaring. Sure, he made 3-5 bad throws, and Christion dropped an easy deep ball...but they did almost triple the yardage that we gained last year against VT. I was miserable about the way we looked this time last year offensively, and actually am optimistic about our chances for damn good year.
Clean up the issues on defense and we'll be fine.

We must improve the QB play to peak this year. I was happy the A-Day Sims was absent so he has improved under Kiffin.
Time will tell if he keeps improving or gets overtaken.
The defense will get better without injuries.
