Seeing a lot of chatter about him being back by the SC or OM game. Anybody else hearing anything similar? Would be huge to have him on the field and healthy for the stretch run.

I hope. Ready to see him on the field again.

All I have read is that his recovery time is "on time".

Hope he stays out as long as he needs to. Would love to have him but don't want him unless he's 100%.

I hope we don't rush him back... Having said that, Alabama cornerback that tore his ACL is about to be back.

al.com article the other day said the staff is assuming he won't play as of now, and then go from there. Everything i've seen says he is "on track". I would very much doubt he is back by OM or USCe, but I would love to be wrong. I'd much rather him not rush back, though.

He is in month four of after surgery. Two more months minimum.

Look for him about game 8. I saw him on campus yesterday with no boot or brace on.

He had surgery May 1st so this is the beginning of the 5th month. My brother is a physical therapist. He told me depending on the severity and a few other factors it is possible to be 100% 5 months out from ACL surgery.

You can typically diagnose a torn ACL by a simple anterior drawer test. It gives pretty easily and there is a ton of laxity if it is completely torn.

Agreed due to them having to rely on the MRI to diagnose it. If it was only a partial tear and they were able to fix it with an augmentation he could be getting pretty close to being cleared.

The biggest hurdle with an ACL or any knee injury is the mental one. Every time someone goes low or comes near that knee for a while is hard to deal with.

Agree. He will need to 100% trust it in order to rush the end.
I personally do not think he will play this year

I know when I tore my ACL/MCL in the late 90's it took me a good 4-6 months before I even felt comfortable cutting/running on it. I'm sure the procedure has come a long way since then but every little pain or twist for that first few months kinda freaks you out.

Muscle atrophy is a big deal too. Even if the the joint is only immobilized for 4 or 5 days the shrinking of the muscles alone will account for a large part of getting back to %100 when dealing with an ACL. I have first hand experience x3

I read an article last weekend that said his recovery process has been, "remarkable", and the date they're hoping he comes back is by October 11th.
