Heading down this weekend with my daughter to visit the school. Don't need anything high end but don't want to end up in a dump either. Y'all play away so I'm hoping hotel rooms aren't a problem. Any suggestions? Prefer in Oxford but anything within 1/2 - 1 hour is cool.

Thanks. Will check in later.

Is right across from the Grove too. Perfect spot to get a feel for campus.

Ole miss Inn

Don't confuse it with the Ole Miss Motel. I think the real name is the Inn at Ole Miss. https://www.theinnatolemiss.com/

Wanted to thank you guys for the recommendation. The Ole Miss Inn was perfect, right there in the middle of campus.

As for the visit itself, campus is beautiful. Daughter loved it. Dad approved. No idea where she'll end up, but she's definitely high on OM even more so after the visit than before.

Thanks again for your help guys.

ETA - As an aside, for the things dad was interested in...the baseball stadium was unbelievable. Couldn't get as much of a look at the football field, but what I saw was awesome. Easily the ugliest building on campus was The Tad. Glad to see you guys are getting a new basketball arena. Is that expected to be ready for 2015-2016?

Yes, it should be ready for the first SEC game of 2016.

Gotta tell ya, the campus is beautiful. The people were great. For being yankees, we really felt right at home in no time flat. The daughter is all into the sun dress thing too.

If your daughter liked Ole Miss, you should also check out Alabama.

Better school/academic options. Ole miss may have a slight edge in prettier campus.

Tuscaloosa is also a city with some legit industry. Good for internships/co-ops/jobs.

She's expressed an interest in Bama too. We're gonna try to make it there. At the end of the day, it will probably depend on where she gets the most $$$$ from. Unfortunately, Mizzou doesn't have a very good track record with that.

Bama has been throwing money at out of state students, i would feel confident.

My sister goes to Bama now. if she is interested in sororities then she will come away most impressed with us.

Although you may not be impressed with the dues.

As long as you go SEC i think yall are making a good and fun decision. ;)
