My Saturday in Athens.....

Bought season tickets for years, yes I suffered thru Goff and Donnan and used to park on Hull when there was no deck. The last 6 years due to children in college I was just unable to pull it off. Donated enough every year to stay in the Bulldog Club but not enough for season tickets. Wife and I would go to a couple every year but that was about it.
Gave a lil more this year because my son FINALLY graduated college but my daughter still has one more year. Went on EBay and bought season ticketswhich was wayyy cheaper and a lot better seats than I would've gotten anyway. I'm in section 307, on the 50, not bragging, I got lucky. Not sure if it was the tailgating and bourbon but when the wife and I sat down and knowing that for the first time in 6 years these were my seats.....I teared up a lil.
I'm a sidewalk fan as some of you call us. Attended Western Carolina. Started going to UGA games when I was 6 with a friend of mine who's pop was a captain for UGA in the 50's. I remember the open end, the trestle, was there for Herschel and George.....GOTDAMNIT IM BACK FRICKERS!!!

Yep....met Spunky, man can cook. As far as the tailgate... They tell me I had a Helluva time. When we got back after the game somebody had set a YETI cooler behind our car. Not sure if somebody drunk as he'll left it thinking it was their car or buddies car. We drug over to our tent thinking somebody would come by and claim it.....nope. So I got a Yeti cooler with 4 Natty Lights, 9 uncooked hamburger patties and a jar of dill pickles.

I was probably sitting up there on the trestle when you were there for Herschel. I think the only game I sat in the stadium in 1980 was when Herschel broke Tony Dorsett's freshman rushing record in the Tech game. He blasted around the right end, headed toward the tracks, and after that all I remember is liquid and bottles flying through the air.

It's a great feeling having that peace of mind knowing those seats are yours and no one else's. Glad you got them and can witness, hopefully, a special season with the rest of us.
Also, that Yeti cooler was mine so if you could return it that would be grreaaaaaatttttt

Damn thing is to heavy, made for stationary tailgating. After I get a few in me I get sociable and mobile. I'll stick with my igloo on wheels. So beat up I can leave it anywhere.
