I really think there were 2 players in particular that deserve accolades for Saturday that I haven't heard to much about.

1) Herrera had a fricking beastly game. Floyd and company might have been the talk of the town after the game, but I think Herrera is the leader of this defense and really put on a fricking clinic in the second half.

2) M. Bennett...the blocking on the outside was fricking tremendous. M. Bennett might have only had a few catches, but his blocking was fricking solid on the outside. Even though we didn't pass much, our receiving core showed some blocking prowess.

Just a few guys I think deserve a little more credit for Saturday. Anybody else got any?

He deserves more credit for his whole career. Last year he was better than Wilson but didn't get any credit.

Theus owned Beasley for most of the game.

I was just coming in to say that Theus played extremely well. Didn't hear a peep from #3 all game and kept Mason's jersey clean. Huge for the rest of the season if we can get that kind of consistent play out of him.

Yep. Punt game was strong and they got pinned deep twice IIRC.

How about Hutson Mason.....yes he failed to deliver big on the aerial attack but he kept it together and didn't do anything stupid.

Beasley was held to 1 sack and I think 2 TFLs, but one of those came when Beard was in at LT. On the drive when Beard came in, in my opinion, the line did not look nearly as good. Part of that was on the 3rd and short, Andrews missed is man on a pull (or it was a very exaggerated and fricked up down block, I couldn't tell), but I don't think Beard looked good, either. If Theus can play like that against USC's smaller DE's then we should have a field day on the toss to the left side.

Quincy Mauger...I have traditionally been a nega-dawg on this guy but he made some big plays and big hits when we needed em. He looked like a legit SEC safety out there when he was in

Sony killed it. It's nice to have speed on ST to get tackles on the 15

How about the home crowd? The whole stadium this time...not just the student section.

McKenzie almost bust that last punt return too. Dude is electric

I was shocked at how much better Mauger looked. Corey Moore was much better too

Isaiah looked promising...Percy scored every 6 and a half touches or something ridiculous. If Isaiah is that kind of player I would be very pleasantly surprised.

Sony has the potential to be just as versatile as Percy was I think. Slot, flank, backfield...he looks dangerous with the ball.

I like how the team looks on offense. If the receivers can get healthy, it looked like Bennett was a little banged up through the game, this very well could be a better offensive team than any of Murray's 4 years.

Secondary's learning curve is gon be steep. They play fast & mean. Grew up a lot & got some confidence going Sat. night & that's so important back there. They should be very good by seasons end.
