I went on record saying S. Carolina would run train on aTm last Thursday.

Well, a train was run, but not the one I had predicted.

It's rare that I've seen S. Carolina beaten that badly at home, and I truly thought they would beat the Aggies down hard. And I predicted S. Carolina to win the East. Well, they still might. I guess we'll see how they rebound when they play Georgia in a couple of weeks.

But I do NOT see Georgia beating them - no - humiliating them like aTm did. I will be very happy if we escape with a 1 point victory.

Anywho - my hat's off to any team that can spank Spurrier that viciously in front of a packed stadium of his own fans. Does my heart good.

Congrats Aggies.

Well, spurrier did kind of have his pants yanked down and was then viciously spanked by aTm. Sure it's just a (gross) analogy, but that's almost kind of sort of like a nude celebrity.

Just not one that anyone would really pay to see.

If South Carolina beats Georgia, the board's search for a new reason to discredit A&M should be entertaining.

There were a couple of moments, while I was watching that game, that - if given a real opportunity and they were willing - I most certainly would have.

Klarvin, you know LSU fans never need a reason to discredit A&M. I'm still pissed about your school pulling out of the contract back in the nineties because Dinardo had us rolling in the right direction.

Athens, GA was the place to be for an Aggie this weekend. Both UGA and Clemson fans were giving us props. Even had our dinner tab picked up by some Clemson fans on Friday night. UGA tailgate was super fun and everyone was so welcoming.

ETA: I didn't wear letters or colors, but 2 of the other guys had aTm hats on.

Sweet. A Saturday in Athens, GA, completes your initiation into the SEC.

I sincerely wish I had thought of doing what you did. I'd have loved to have visited Athens and seen a game, but it just never occurred to me that that drive was worth TWO games. Congrats on being much smarter than me.

1st games never matter that much. It is a long season, and I expect OBC to fix the problems. Our D is still suspect, but vastly improved IMO.

Truth. And I still expect a war and a very close game when Georgia trips to Columbia in a couple of weeks.

But, regardless, a very impressive win by aTm, imvho.

You're hardly alone. That was the consensus here and every-damn-where. I honestly thought the Aggies had a chance, but never would have guessed at that final score. My one "oh shite" moment was when USC had MOH-recipient and USC student Kyle Carpenter speak before the game. My thought was "Oh, shite. I didn't see that coming." I figured that was good for 10 USC points.

USC played the worst matchup you can come up with for the first game. Sumlin had a points-machine ready to roll. Don't read too much into that. On the flipside, Aggies are ecstatic to do well in a first-big-game. It has been a LONG time since that happened. KDS, and all that.

Thanks much. Ignore all the smartasses.

FWIW, we flew in and out of ATL and rented a car. But it was worth it for sure.
