Adjusting Preseason Expectations

Still very early in the season...but we made preseason predicitions based on...well....nothing. I was wondering how everyone felt about their teams after their first game. What do you think your teams record will be after seeing them actually play a game?
But...to make it interesting, tell us what you thought your record would be before the first game and then what you think your record will be now.
Georgia 11-1 before 11-1 now.
Just curious to see how everybody feels about your teams post week 1.

Just curious, who do you see your loss being to?
I see us from 15-0 down to 10-2. Our schedule is brutal but this may end up being the most explosive offense in all the land by seasons end.
Preseason I was thinking 10-2.

Originally I thought it would be to South Carolina. Now, I am not sure. I just know how hard it is to go undefeated. Could be Auburn, or Florida or Mizzou. All are capable teams, IMO.
Since you are a Mizzou fan, I will say with our young QB and your two DE's you could give us a lot of problems. Only time will tell. It's only a guess and based on very little evidence.
I'm sorry....you are an Auburn fan....based on your succes it could be Auburn. Great offense and just enough defense to get it done.
Disclaimer: I think we are capable of beating everybody...but I think that oozes arrogance and short sightedness. We could also lose 3-4 games.

I don't think that's arrogant. I actually believe that there are 3 or 4 fan bases that can legitimately make that statement. Will be a wild season.

I will tell you who I'm worried about, tUniversity of Tennerac rolling in on an undefeated UGA and whipping our arse. Last year we won on a fluke and lost half our team in the process.
This team and our fans have yet to learn that we are not yet on Alabama's level.
We beat a solid top twenty team and played better football than we had in a few seasons, but we don't need to start crowning ourselves as the patron saint of football just yet IMO.

I had us going 12-0, still do barring injury.

I still think we'll end up 8-4. I do expect the offense to improve this season, but I don't think we have a very good defensive line right now.

Before the season, I was thinking that LSU might go 8-4 with losses to Wisconsin, MSU, Auburn, and Alabama.
After one game, I am still thinking 8-4. With a win over Wisconsin, I am still thinking 8-4. I think we lose at Auburn, Alabama, and two of three against MSU or at Florida or at A&M.

I had UGA 15-0 because of all the returning talent, and new talent coming in that was better than the talent that graduated, and easier schedule than last year.
I now am even more confident in 15-0 because UGA's biggest weaknesses last year (secondary and special teams) have both seemed to make a dramatic turnaround. I know it's just one game, but based on that one game as instructed by the OP, I am still confident in an undefeated national championship season.
I can get as detailed as yall like, but that's the short version.

Absolutely! And, for some reason, I don't take it as arrogance when other fan bases believe they can go undefeated...but with georgia's recent history....well, Georgia fans try to temper our enthusiasm until we actually do somethig like that!

12-0 best, 11-1 predicted, 9-3 worse case. Nothing has changed. TAMU better, USC weaker. Bama who I thought they were, good but beatable.

Exactly. And that is all we have to go on. I hope you are right!

You're right. I misspoke. I should have said that with his relative inexperience. However, after thinking about it....he is fitting right in with most of the QB's in the SEC with his experience.

12-0 Regular season. Still is.

11-1 losing to Florida
Seriously? If Georgia loses one, its to Auburn, who is the only other team on your schedule worth a shite besides the gators. And Auburn is MUCH better than anyone else UGA plays.
