Seems there's been a lot of talk over the last year about a weak arm and a tendency to get happy feet. Is he really the guy to get the big wins in high profile games? Or do we find out that there was a lot of distance between him and Murray?

Yeah...he got two games under his belt...but I don't feel like I've seen enough to know whether this guy is a franchise-caliber quarterback.

Seems like teams are going to play to stop the run and see what Mason can do.

Hoping my fears will be gone by tonight!

I believe he tries to do too much today allowing Clemson to stay close.

I believe in Mason. The Question should be Do the Coaching Staff believe in Mason.

I believe in Gurley and company. Wish all the best to Mason as he has waited for this chance to lead Dawgs.

When I first read this I agreed. but after thinking about it I'm not sure. he didn't try to do too much last season at tech and Nebraska or Kentucky. He started slow, and I think he will do that again......but think what happens if he DOESN'T start slow? What if, with a full off season to prepare and to get used to the idea that he is the man, he goes in with confidence and lights it up?

I think Bobo starts him slow with short high percentage passes to settle him down then works up from there. I am feeling pretty good about today.

this is gonna be the recipe for sure. hutson is about to alex smith game manage the shite out of this season taking us to the playoff. he's just there to let the playmakers make plays and he's great at that.

That's what I am hoping for. All he has to do is make 3-4 big plays during the year and we will be fine. I think he has 3-4 big plays in him.

Hutson McCaron?

I hope you're right. It'll be tough for him. Night game. Sanford. ESPN.

He's going to be all jacked up.

Tonight and the SEC opener against SC will tell us everything we need to know. Hard to imagine we're not in for a drop-off from a four-year starter who passed for over 13,000 yards and 121 TDs.

On the other hand, the guy has a bit more prototypical size and seems to do well with a fast-paced offense... I like the upside of the guys after him but if he can be a good game manager and make good decisions, that's probably what we need for now.
