Does anyone think West Virginia stacks while sims is in at QB and leaves the receivers on an island? I just feel like if sims is that improved he should be able to let it go deep and everyone be open if WVU stacks. I just don't know if he has the arm strength.

I think they'll make Sims beat em with his arm. VaTech played tight last year and covered deep because they were afraid of McCarron to Coop. They're not afraid of Sims throwing deep, so it's gonna be on him to maybe get a shot on a fake option early to show them if he can do it.

Agreed with the showing what he can do part. If he doesn't impress early, he's getting the hook. This ain't practice.

Well, I don't think it'll be like that...

I think he'll play some, and regardless of how he does then Coker will play some. Then regardless of how he does Sims will come back in. And that goes on until the game is over.

Maybe I'm wrong. If the game is close, things could get tricky. We try to get up quick and Saban will be on the D to keep them down. Then he can play both QBs without worrying about too much. I think Saban wants both to play about the same number of snaps, because you just can't know who is better in practice. If we're gonna find out, they both need to play in a real game.

It's going to be interesting for sure. I won't be surprised by anything. If they split or if Sims goes throws it 23 times and Jake throws it 5 times, that won't surprise me.

I've gone over just about every scenario, and I expect them all so as to avoid being wrong.

This isn't a tough game as far as our SEC schedule but WVu isn't FAU. They are going to play to win Saban's same old way until we are up by 28-35. If Sims aint getting it done in his first 2-3 drives, I don't see him coming back in, if the game is still somewhat closer by the 3rd quarter. And it would be close if Sims was playing like shite.

Saban isn't playing this game any differently from a strategy stand point to just get the QBs more work without any pressure. When the team goes to work, they go to work, there won't be any more incentive to play balls to the wall then there ever has and will be.

Id be shocked

I think Sims is getting the courtesy start. The real start is against UF. I just hope we dont frick around with WVu if Sims hasn't taken the step. Coker needs to start throwing bombs and getting it to the RBs if it goes sour. Saying that, I am a big fan of bringing in blake as a wild cat QB and running some read option and then every once in a while, dialing up a big play to let him hit someone wide open down field.

This is something I want us to go to

With Sims and Coker on the field together or just sims in with a RB in the wild cat

It would work even better with OJ Howard in the spot julio is in this play because it is being sold as a run play even more.

cannot see this game being close in 2nd qtr - quick strikes for bama ...think coker will look better and thus sims will play more late in garbage time

I agree. It's gonna be similar to the first game of 2011, McCarron vs. Simms. This Sims will play about 75% of the game, though.
