Doesn't matter.
We lost Manziel, Evans, & Matthews.
There's no coming back from that ever.

We're not even one full week into 2014...hold your horses.

Also: a team is never as good or as bad as many tend to believe

I'm seriously concerned about the LB position right now.

After Hilliard went down, we put in a player (Justin Bass) who had just recently gotten his scholarship as a former walk-on.

Add that to Shaan Washington's collar injury and we're paper thin at LB.

Over the next three games, I need to see a shitload of reps from Josh Walker, Otaro Alaka, Reggie Chevis, and Brett Wade

Find a defense and we will start to care. This University of Houston score 77 points a game against shitty defenses reeks of the Big 12. Play a couple of real defenses and get back to me. Throw in some ball control and running the football down your defense's throat is literally a game changer. It won't even resemble what LSU will do to A&M on Turkey Day.

I think in 1-2 years the SEC will start to see a very respectable, upper echelon SEC defense from A&M. If you watched the game last night, the three most notable players on our defense (SO Mastrogiovanni, FR Myles Garrett, FR Armani Watts) are all underclassmen. The defensive recruiting is picking up. If we can keep the staff together it's going to be a very good unit.

Here's the catch...if the defensive staff is good they will leave for other jobs.

I agree, Judge. You guys are a sleeping giant and much to my disappointment I think Sumllin has you going in the right direction. But if your defense cannot get up to par with LSU, Bama, Auburn on a consistent level you are already behind the eight ball before the season starts. Hope your team has a safe, injury free season. Look forward to the Thanksgiving night matchup.

You my friend are worried about the wrong things as a priority to the success and failures of the 2014 Aggies

Heres my opinions of week one.

A&M has a glaring need for a power running attack to ward off comebacks from foes when the Aggies have a lead. Its all fine and dandy to throw the ball 50-60 times but it will bite them sooner or later. A&M has a six point lead with just over three minutes left in the game...can they run down the clock? If not they may be opening the door for Mr Comeback.

The secondary is not very good right now...but hopefully the young frosh will develop quickly.

The Gamecocks showed up fat and lazy...but I think they were way over rated...qb play was spotty and wrs were not much help. They didn't establish a run game in part because of their playing from behind and I think their OL is over rated. Their dbs were definitely not very good and should have had their hands all over the wrs to wear them down. Watch UFs secondary for an example of how you cover wrs. Remember...the physical hounding of wrs will result in drops, altered routes and picks eventually. Muschamp is a secondary coach who loves to play physical. Look at what we did to A&M two years ago on Kyle Field in second half.

Not trying to throw wet blanket on your parade...because A%M wrs will wear out secondaries if not jumped on from the time the whistle blows....and A&M will have plenty of leads this year to protect...that's the good news! But I wanna see A&M play a physical defense that will make young Mr Hill have to look for his third and fourth target and by then he will be getting helped up off the turf by his OL or will need surgery to remove football from chest cavity.

Looking at schedule it seems like A&M will not face talented secondaries that much....will be fun to watch...even though Im a 3 yds and a cloud of dust kind of guy

I would like to congratulate the Aggies on being the first team in the history of college to win a national championship after 1 game

When the team has 99 plays in a game, throwing 60 times is not that ridiculous. Also, the last drive of the game took up 10 mins of clock.
