Defer. Let Pruitt set the tone for the game and hopefully season.

Play defense...and for no other reason then thats where we really have a decisive edge. Clemsons D is pretty damn good so it would be in our best interest to defer to the second half

Well that's just not the right attitude, friend.

take the ball...long drive...eating up clock...and score the TD...that sets the tone imho...think UF in 07...minus the endzone celebration...

Me too. I'd much much much rather get the ball to start the 2nd half.

Excellent question. The trend is to defer and I usually agree with it. Getting the ball first in the second half is a fresh start if you are behind, and demoralizing to the other team if you are ahead.

However, having Gurley run over them for the first score would be nice. And if our defense were to give them the first score, with all of our fears there, it could really suck the wind out of us.

So. I think break tradition and take the ball.

Historically CMR is prone to defer. Also historically, we come out weak in the 3rd quarter.

That said...I want to see us take control of the game and not lose any early crowd momentum. Gurley is the best weapon on offense or defense. We need a long drive that features a lot of Gurley to setup the play action the rest of the game.

Defer. Make Stoudt prove he can move that offense. Get the ball back second half.

I say defer, then try an onside kick.

Here's what Saban says about it:

"When they moved the ball back to the 30-yard line, you see very few touchbacks now," he said. "The ball's not going to get on the 20-yard line. A normal drive start is between the 26- and 28-yard line. So it's not really a field-position thing like it used to be."

Frick it don't show weakness let the bid dawgs bite!

Gurley Gouge 140 yard prediction and a new pair of shoes!

Take the damn ball, score early and often and make them bitches quit before halftime, then the second half kickoff doesn't matter.

I like that...talk about sending a message. Has there ever been an opening onside kick in the history of football?
