I still think Maty Mauk is the best in the conference, but Hill is obviously better than Sims, whatever LSU has, Dak, Bo, Marshall, and I won't even waste time trying to look up the piggies starter...

But what do you credit most?

Pure talent? The guys dad has over 100 wins in the bigs and he's athletic as shite. Kenny can sling it.

Texas high school football? Our quarterbacks are better than your quarterbacks. It's just an undeniable fact. They run these spread offenses since they first put on pads. Programs like Southlake(where Kenny is from) have more resources than all of Mississippi. We breed and develop QBs at the high school level and other states don't have a prayer of catching up.

Kevin Sumlin? Drew Brees. Sam Bradford. Keenun. Manziel. It doesn't matter. He's run national clinics on the one back system for over a decade and has invented QB drills coaches have been stealing left and right. The coaching tree almost says it all. Everyone that learns under him is wildly succesful.

The name on the jersey? Kids are flocking to be a part of this program and the talent is so overwhelming it makes Kenny not even have to play that well. Hill missed some easy wide open throws, was late on a few balls, and had all day to throw. Kenny Hill could peak in his play tomorrow and it might not matter.

So what say you rant? Obviously all of these things are contributors, I just want to know what you feel is the most important?

Such anointing when most of the conference hasn't even played.

I don't disagree. I could see him going for like 4500 yards, to be honest. I wanna see how many INTs he throws this season. That was my problem with JFF. Too many INTs.

Hill already looks more poised than JFF ever did. He isn't the runner and magic man that Johnny was, but as a passer the early results don't lie.

Pump the brakes. USC couldn't cover their own shadow.

Hill is good and made his throws, but he wasn't even touched by the USC front 7 but 1 time.

USC didn't even attempt to cover RSJ.

Sometimes you gotta not give a shite about finding an extra basket and just deliver the eggs anyway.

He's definitely more willing to take what the defense gives him than JFF. He won't have the dynamic big play ability though

What impressed me about A&M was the overall team effort that was given last night. Sometimes I wonder if JFF was just a distraction for this team at times...as he pretty much ran the show and cobbled up any attention there was. I know he was a good team mate and leader for you guys, but I saw a better team effort overall than I ever saw with JFF at the helm. That said, lets let the rest of the SEC show what its got before we annoint anyone king be.

Good QBs figure out a way to get the ball out quickly, read protections, and make the right play to put their team in manageable downs where the defense can't pin their ears back.

Back to the original question, what was the biggest contribution?

Pure talent?
Texas high school football?
Sumlin?
The talent magnet in College Station?

On top of that, when he was pressured he did a great job of avoiding it and keeping his eyes down the field. He got sacked twice I believe, but I know one of those was over from the start. Guy came free and dropped him.

All he did was play an unprepared East team. Lets not make him Johnny Unitas just yet.

System QB's
Manziel will never make it in NFL

Sumlin will take the bait and try NFL at some point but college is where he is best suited. Oklahoma offense hasn't been same since he left

He looked really really really good. SC looked really really really bad. It's going to be interesting to see if both those hold true for the remainder of the season. One thing I know for sure, it was so great watching football last night- thank god the offseason is over.

He looked really good, but USCe's defense could be really bad too. I didn't see him getting too much pressure and those receivers were wide open much of the time. Let's see how he does after he gets slammed to the ground a few times.
